Gung Hey Fat Choy!
Today is the Lunar New Year, so welcome to the Year of the Rooster, everyone! Gung hey fat choy!
What can we expect in a Rooster Year? According to Susan Levitt and Jean Tang in Taoist Astrology, the Year of the Rooster is:
. . . a time of practical endeavors, conscientiousness, hard work, and discipline. Politically conservative police states gain power, and law and order are championed.
Oh my!
Because I was born in 1957, my astrological sign is Rooster too! Hopefully, that should mean 2017 will be an especially good and benevolent year for me. Hey, any other Roosters out there?
And finally -- to guarantee good luck and prosperity for the upcoming year, be sure to exchange a small coin with a friend today -- click here for details of this fun little ritual!

I am a horse, born in 1954.
sweet mother of pearl, that tao astrology prediction is scary true, especially for those of us in the USA. RESIST!
I am a goat! 1967 was the year for me! :) Happy Chinese New Year!
Oh yes, we are fellow ROOSTERS, born to the sound of Elvis in 1957, baby! One thing, my siblings teased me like crazy when we first saw the Chinese calendar at a Chinese restaurant when we were kids, it didn't say, "rooster", it said, "cock". Oh no, you KNOW my brothers never let me forget that! :-) Brothers, you gotta love em!
Happy New Year. I will fill my pocket with some coins and share!
I'm a Tiger, so I come by being stubborn honestly!
I'm a peace loving Rabbit. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Thinks for the info: I think I will go to the Chinese restaurant today and leave a tip of coins.
When is the year of the Buzzard?
the Ol'Buzzard
Thanks, thinks, thanks, thinks.... Oh hell
the Ol'Buzzard
I hope it's a good one for you, Debra!
My sign is the snake.
Happy New Year, Debra!
I am a Rat!!
Just how fitting is it that I'm a cock too.
It is certain to be an interesting year! I am a Wood Tiger.
I'm a rabbit, but an older one than Jennifer. Happy New Year!
I'm a horse! Here in my country we don't have where to shop currently because all of the Chinese have went home for the holidays and closed their cheap shops :)
I was born in the year of the Fire Pig.
If I had any friends I'd gladly give them all my pennies, they always bug me. The pennies not my non existent friends.
My Chinese exchange students were always so tickled with the gold coin candy I gave them. I have searing memories of cooking a traditional New Year's recipe straight outta China. The house smelled terrible, but the student was transformed. She wafted the scent into her nostrils! Culture.
OMG! That means you're a Fire Rooster just like this year. Check here for your sign :

I found this site a while back. It's really cool gives you everything you need to know for this year concerning your sign.
I hope we can turn The Rooster's predictions when it comes to justice real. For if we can't, well... you know.
there is a word I'd like to come true this year .... integrity. Happy year of the Rooster to you! (I'm a dragon :)
I can live without the political forcast, its only been a few days and I am thinking I need a 4 year ban on following the news. In any case Happy Year of the Rooster may it be a blessed one.
baa..sheep..
Things Should be Avoided:
Unlucky Numbers: 6, 7, 8 Unlucky Colors: gold, brown, black Unlucky Direction: west
I love this..my favorite number is 7, my favorite colors are gold and black..I live in West..I'm fuked
Haha, I'm a sheep. A follower, not a leader. Avoids confrontation at all costs. None of this is a surprise to anyone who knows me. ;)
I'm a monkey! Happy New Year! This will for sure be your year Deb! Big Hugs!
I just know it will be a great year for all of us...
I get free coffee at 7-11 this week because of the Lunar New Year. Score!
I'm a dragon
My year was the year of the rabbit. I like the sound of justice and integrity. Let's hope the Rooster can make some great things happen.
Do you think Trump is aware of that..Sounds like his year...I'm not going to see anyone to exchange with today :(
Happy Chinese new year! My brother was once married to a Chinese woman, so I know about Chinese culture a bit.
Happy new year dear Debra!!!
hope all go fine and brilliant with you this year, amen
i am Virgo [though never been interested in such stuff ]and hope things will run smoothly as they are already [hopefully]
I am an Ox.... Enjoy your year!
Through the power of Chinese restaurants and free calendars I learned that I was born in the year of the Horse. The Rooster sounds like a fun year. This one is going to be a doozy for sure.
I'm a dragon. Enough said.
I'm a white rabbit but it doesn't fit too well. Not too contented and not at all passive.
That's a very nice tradition, exchanging coins for prosperity.
Happy New Year, Debra! I'm a gold tiger.
I am rooster as well.
We sure need this Rooster year.
Thanks, Debra. I like reading about the positives we can look forward to.
I'm a pig. I mean that as my sign, but I'm also a pig. This year I look forward to rooting around in the mud and eating myself into a coma.
I have no idea what I am but if I had to guess, I'd say rooster. Sounds just like me. Not that I'm cocky. Just timely.
With current world events I thought it was year of the cock!
Happy New Year!
I am a bit late in reading this post, but here I am now.
I am a dragon.....a water dragon!
Take care
Peggy xxxx
