Today, three choice tidbits from the ongoing Culture Wars . . . .
First, a noted enemy of the LGBTQ+ community passed away just last year -- Joseph Nicolosi, creator and promoter of so-called "reparative therapy" or "ex-gay therapy." Our community has long fought against his erroneous and harmful theories, which are really just old-fashioned "repression" and "oppression" dressed up in fancy-schmancy pseudo-scientific bigotry.
I thought the following brilliant tweet very pointedly applied his simplistic solutions to his own situation!
Secondly, there's some notable candidates running in the US midterms!
You loved her on Sex and the City, now hopefully Cynthia Nixon will soon be Governor of New York!
And I heard about this great guy running for Governor of Maryland thanks to Frank at Reluctant Rebel. He's got one of the best and funniest campaign ads I've seen in a long time!
Thirdly, gay wedding cakes! Need I say more?

When I read about that bakery refusing to make a wedding cake for a gay couple I was disgusted. Shame on that owner.

The US has become a seriously fucked up place where it is ok to use the bible to justify any number of human rights abuses.
I love all the talk, all the information, the one finger salutes that the current political poisonous vapor has sent out into our lives. It keeps us thinking, talking, hopping, planning. I may miss it when he's gone, but I won't miss all of us.

Oh my God, I had not heard of Madaleno before, but I'm getting my checkbook out even as we speak.
I'm usually not a fan of celebrities running for governor ( I was living in California when we elected Arnold) but I am really falling for Cynthia Nixon.

I have not heard any bakery man saying that they won't make a cake. It is very bad.
Not even gonna touch the cake controversy. However, for those here who know very little about New York politics, Cynthia Nixon has a snowball's chance in Hell of getting any traction. Simple reason is that Cuomo is the go-to person for the Gay community and they won't change their allegiance to anyone else.
We got our cake from a supermarket called Ingles. Typically corporations will make any cake as the baker is a slave to the captialistic system.
Reparative therapy? For realz? It's as bad as the Westboro folks. So sad that some people just don't get it. Love is love.

The last one made me bust out laughing ~ maybe it's not PC to laugh at it, but I'm so sink of PC. I was disappointed in SCOTUS for avoiding dealing with discrimination against gays.
