Post of the Week

My pick for this week's favourite post
from the blogosphere is one by a
British author and blogger
who lives in Wales.

Drumroll, please, Ringo!

"Whoops! And Again!" by Liz Hinds
of Finding Life Hard? blog

It's a moving story with a
short (three minute) video
about a family lie which shook her
young world and life.

You can read it
by clicking here.

You'll need to click
the video's "play" button twice.

Touching, things have changed in society over the past 60 years, my grandmother shared with me a few deep family secrets, there were others never talked about, and lost

Oh family. The things family does in the name of family can be so harmful. The lies, the half-truths, the omissions.
My family has had those stories and it changes how you view people when the real story comes out.
Thanks for sharing that with us.

Thank you for sharing this it sounds like a really moving post! I will have to check it out. Families can keep so many secrets from each other, I'm so glad my family is not like that.

Hope that you had a good weekend! Was a hot and sunny one here :)

@ Mike -- Yes, social and legal mores have changed in more recent times, and a good thing too.

My own family is filled with lies. I have three half brothers, all by different fathers, none of whom is my father. Life goes on.

So, so true.
Every family has some of this.

XOXO

She tells her story so well. How tragic to feel unloved as a child...

That was very moving, and something I imagine everyone can relate to in their own way.
