Cribbage, Tiger Tiger, Back Scratchers and Marvel

Welcome to my "Vacay Edition" of Weekly Roundup! While visiting my sister, we didn't get up to too many shenanigans but instead had a quiet and enjoyable visit. Here are a few hilites --

I got my ass whupped at cribbage. I only managed to win a measly couple of games.

A special treat was going for some yummy tiger tiger ice cream! This is a Canadian delicacy consisting of orange ice cream with a black licorice swirl. I've written previously about tiger tiger here.

I finally found and bought a replacement back scratcher for my old one which broke about 6 months ago! Victory is mine!

And I scored an awesome new Marvel t-shirt! (And before you ask -- no, I haven't seen the just-released Deadpool & Wolverine movie yet! I'm waiting until it streams on Disney+).

Can’t wait to see the movie. Love the shirt!

I used to play Cribbage back in the day and loved it. I don't know why I stopped ...
That looks like an industrial strength back-scratcher; should last a good long while.

Tom said...

...black licorice is an acquired taste that I never acquired!

Glad you had a good break! Oh yes, I need a back scratcher! Clothes hangers don't work perfectly. But no, no, no, to liquorice in ice cream.

Boud said...

Good to see you back. I used to play cribbage with my Dad as a kid. I don't think I ever won a game.

Pixie said...

I'm glad you had a good visit with your sister. As for cribbage, I think I've played it twice in my life. I may be a little competitive and I might hate losing:)

Welcome back! Glad you had a good time with your sister. Oh, back scratchers ... what would we do without them? We just saw the new Deadpool movie a couple of days ago. The rest of the family knows more about the whole Marvel industry than I do, but I still thought it was funny. -Jenn

After I saw the Deadpool/Wolverine boy band opening on YouTube, I'm itching to see this movie as well.

You reminded me that I need a back scratcher! Thanks!
Glad you had fun with your sister.

I am not sure why you would need a backscratcher, given the long lineup of buxom butch lesbians eager to do the job for you? Nonetheless that is indeed a rawther victorious picture.

It's nice you were able to visit your sister in between the circuit parties.

bruce.desertrat said...

Well, in line with most modern movies Deadpool and Wolverine DOES have a few commercial ti-ins. :-)

Kirk said...

I don't know if I realized it was licorice, but I'm sure I've had ice cream that looks like that in the past. Anyway, welcome back. You've been missed.

I searched for Tiger Tiger ice cream in the US. No luck.

That is so kind of you to let your kid sister win at Cribbage. I NEED that tiger tiger ice cream. If we had that here, we both might be tempted to have it every day. My mouth is actually watering. We have telescoping back scratchers. SG couldn’t live without one. He’d love the big “hand size” of yours. I’m waiting for Deadpool & Wolverine, but will have to watch it by myself I think. And I’m sorry your vacay is over, but I’m so happy you’re back!

Holy moly, I've just discovered that the Blogger software has been upgraded to let me respond to individual comments! What a game changer! Thanks for liking my new tee, Marie!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

I like big back-scratchers and I cannot lie.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

I like the sweeter versions of black licorice but not the hardcore stuff.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Bears resort to scratching their backs against a tree. I was almost to the point of resorting to that when I found my new back-scratcher!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

I learned how to play when I was a kid too. It's a big game on the Canadian prairies. The Maritimes too, I believe.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Cribbage CAN be a blood sport, it's true, if you take it too seriously.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

It certainly helps to know all the preceding Marvel backstories, but all you really need to enjoy Deadpool is a dirty mind and a love of cartoon violence.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

It will be EPIC!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

You cannot survive in a dry climate without a good back-scratcher!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Do you know who I can contact about obtaining that lineup of buxom butch lesbians? Help a sister out!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Deadpool sex toys would be bestsellers! Disney, get on that right away!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Thanks, Kirk -- glad to be back!

After gun laws, socialized medicine, and no Trump, tiger tiger ice cream is the main advantage to being Canadian.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

How did you know I LET her win? *wink*

jaz@octoberfarm said...

glad you had a nice visit. in toronto, they called that ice cream tiger tail. i hate ice cream but i really liked that stuff you you can not find it anywhere in the states. but if trump gets elected (it's not going to happen!) and i have to move back to canada, i will eat that again!

I'm glad that you had a nice visit with your sister, Debra! I had some great games of cribbage while I was in Nova Scotia. Oh would I love some tiger tiger ice cream.!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

I knew an alternative name is "tiger tail" but I didn't know it was Toronto-centric! Thanks for that info, Joyce.

Welcome back! I had to double check just to see when you were coming back ... Just in time for this coming full moon! I think it's already affecting my sleep! Ugh!! I hate when that happens!
Looking forward to the altar and Goddess!

Quirky is my middle name!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Yes, it was nice to get away for a bit of a break.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Yes, the Full Moon is on Monday, so see you then!

My sister is an avid cribbage player and taught my daughters and grandchildren to play. I never was interested.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Joanne, I bet your game was poker or something like that!

miruspeg said...

Yes Debra my blog has been upgraded to reply individually, it has only taken 16 years!!. Never played cribbage, 500 is my favourite game. That tiger tiger icecream looks scrumptious, most icecreams look good to me!
Big hugs

This upgrade is like a miracle! I can't believe it!

Wow, no seniors' casino junkets or alcohol of any kind to be had, eh?

It is so nice to have you back where you belong. We missed you. It sounds like you had a nice time with family and shopping.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Yes, I'm back and full of piss & vinegar!

I am hoping to see the new DEADPOOL. How is it our backscratchers come up missing so often.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

They go missing because people steal them BEHIND OUR BACKS. . . . I'll show myself out now.

The ice cream looks great,
it's the best to have a good time with your sister!
Yes, a back scraper is essential!

peppylady (Dora) said...

My parents played crib. If my dad won is because of skill, and if my mom won it was because of luck.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Yeah, sisters are the best, aren't they!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Luck or skill, I'll take a crib win any way I can get it, LOL!

Ur-spo said...

Tiger ice cream! Hey, I learned something !
I always have a back scratcher with me, even when I travel. Joy to itch in a minute.

Chris said...

That is one extra superior back scratcher!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Back scratchers are truly indispensable.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

Yes, it's a real Numero Uno!

Alison said...

Welcome back. I've not played crib in years. It was a favourite with my late father.

Rosemary said...

It's good to know that I am not alone with a sometimes itchy back in a spot that is impossible to reach - now I need a back scratcher too.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

It's been around since the 1700s or something.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

No worries when you've got a good back-scratcher!

Busy Bee Suz said...

I've never played cribbage or had Tiger Tiger ice cream! I also remember when I didn't need a back scratcher, you know, back when the shoulders could maneuver around better. 🤣 Time with your sister sounds like a lovely respite all the way around.
