Well, you knew it was only a matter of time
before I would subject you to a
sketchbook portrait of a hockey player,
so here he is --
As usual, this was drawn directly in permanent ink,
without the safety net of an erasable
or changeable preliminary pencil sketch.
So of course, it doesn't really look
all that much like the player it's based on.
His eyes are clearly too big (and look at
his dreamy eyelashes, hahahahaha).
I think I did well with those sharp cheekbones, though.
If you know your hockey players and
want to take a shot at guessing who this is,
feel free to go right ahead, LOL!

I don’t know your/any hockey players, so I looked them up. Like Tundra Bunny, I think it’s Connor McDavid. (Does Ben Affleck play hockey? Never mind; nothing like Ben Affleck.)

Not a clue who this is but I would like to meet him.
This is astonishing. All ink and no erasures. I don't know Hockey but I know the KC Chiefs and would have tried to draw Travis Kelsey.
I like it, dreamy eyelashes and all, and I know nothing about hockey or players so I'm not guessing.
I don't all that many hockey players names-but I do know a few. I had to look up Connor McDavid though and I think you did a fantastic job. Now if he was on the Bruins, I might recognize the face. You can't tell with those face masks they wear when playing.
@ My name is Erika -- It's true that hockey players all do look very similar to each other, with with standardized helmets, eye shields/visors and practically every player having a beard these days.

🫢 Even after the reveal of who it is, I had to look up Connor McDavid. The first photo on Google looks like it may have been the one you used for reference. Your portrait is a very sexy, flattering rendition! What I love is that faraway, contemplative stare. I'm thinking, "I rarely feel remorse for my high-sticking penalties, but this time I may have gone too far." 😅
@ Cleora Borealis -- Hahahaha, yes, hockey players are well-known for their introspective, sensitive natures. I'm sure that's EXACTLY what he's thinking, lol!
