Great words to reconsider

I really hope that's a genuine church sign.

So true about the dangerous people in each era. Especially the interested in women's sports "suddenly".

I cannot believe that a former governor of New Mexico is running again and using the non-issue of trans girls playing in girls sports. I think 10 people attended her “rally” yesterday!

That last one. YES!
I agree with rights for all people...it distresses me to see our friends treated so poorly.

...amen to the last one!

It's sad that some issues are issues in the first place when they should be normal parts of life.

I had no idea what the terms "cis" or "cisgender" meant so I had to look them up. As far as I can work out, I myself am "cisgender" and so is my wife. Previously we would have been called a "man" and a "woman" - such horribly outdated transphobic labels.

All so good ... deadnaming Twitter slayed me.

@ Yorkshire Pudding -- "Cisgender" just means that your biological sex matches your gender identity. If it doesn't, you're "transgender." They're contrasting terms, like "straight" and "gay."

Codex:
Martina Navratilova (lesbian) and Serena Williams both stated in interviews that they do not want to compete against trans and gave explanations for it. What do you think?

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Codex -- I think they're overreacting. In their prime, they both could have beaten anybody, regardless of transwomen's diluted testosterone levels due to estrogen treatment. That's what being the best means.

I continue to be amazed by the number of trans women I deeply respect who are in powerful roles and I only later find out are trans. It just ads to my respect. FWIW, I am a cis man.

Codex: What about letting trans women compete in the men's team? Or mixed teams? I used to be a Varsity athlete, but in sports where it really made no difference.

🤨 All of these are excellent! That first one drives me crazy! The hateful people are always the hypersexualized ones! Another person's sexual life oughta be treated like we treat the sex life of our own parents. 🤢😬 "Ew, I don't wanna think about that at all!" And, then, we move on to more vital issues for the well-being of our kids...like school-shooting prevention! 🤬

Absolutely love them all, but the one about J.K. Rowling SENT ME! LMAOOOO

XOXO

@ Anonymous (Codex) -- I have no idea what the best resolution of this issue should be that would be to the benefit of all, but hopefully we'll figure it out in due course. One thing is clear, though, it has to be based on scientifically accurate information, not just a bunch of bullshit opinions and biases.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Spellucci -- Yes, we are all humans and in the end, that is the only thing that matters.

I found your blog through Jamie's, and I am so glad I did. This post is perfection!

These are all fantastic memes and some made me laugh. The underlying theme, however, is tragic and enraging. People are people! Why is that so hard to understand?
My next door neighbors moved here to get out of Tejas with their trans teenager. Welcome to our liberal bubble where many houses in the neighborhood fly trans flags. I wish it didn't have to be like that... but at least I gained some nice neighbors.
