Candy corn is controversial! Such passion for and against. No, I didn't know you could build corn from them. Not sure I cared a whole lot, come to think of it.

Candy corn must be a North American thing because I have never seen it for sale in The British Isles. In fact - when I come to think about it - I had never even heard of candy corn before. Please forgive my ignorance.

I am not a candy fan but I am definitely anti-candy corn.

WE don't have candy corn here. What is it?

...and I've never been a fan.

I never did understand the fascination with candy corn.

I know one special person, who adore candy corn, and I like him despite that weirdness.

Too funny! I can't buy candy corn because I won't stop eating it.

Oh, hahahahahaha! Love these!! And that stuff is just disgusting. 'Course, I loved it as a kid: pure sugar!

I do like some candy corn around this season but I usually wait till after the 31st because it is always left and on sale! I can see from your post that you are not a fan.

@ Yorkshire Pudding -- Now you know how I felt about Bonio dog treat biscuits, lol.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Liz Hinds -- It's a waxy, sickeningly sweet Halloween candy yet, oddly enough, has no real flavour.

@ Travel -- Yes, I wonder if the good doctor will read this post?

Although I have not eaten so much as one kernel of candy corn in many years, I still think I'd like it. I bite one layer off at a time.

Controversial take: I like candy corn. Cannot eat a lot, but I don't mind it.
And that Cankles candy corn? ABOMINATION!!

XOXO

"How old were you when you realized..."

I guess my age now, because I've never thought of stacking it up.

🤢 Whenever I received candy corn during Trick or Treat, I was jealous of Charlie Brown "I Got A Rock." At least a rock has some flavor!! 😋

I like candy corn. There! I’ve said it!

I won't go out of my way to find candy corn, but I ate it as a kid if it was in my trick or treat bag. My dad had a fondness for all sorts of candy including candy corn and those repulsive 'circus peanuts'. Hard, orange colored marshmallows... I think?
Love the stacked up cob and the tiny portrait (should have been frowning or screaming tho)

I was today year’s old when I realized it’s called candy corn bc if you stack it up, it looks like corn. I have to admit the candy corn mummy is awful cute and it’s sweet that, against so much dislike, that little candy corn likes itself, 🥰.

Tundra Bunny said...

Speaking of orange waxy abominations, did you see that vile AI video released by Trumpenfuhrer wherein he's a Top Gun pilot dropping huge payloads of shite onto NYC protesters?

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ e -- Oh yeah, I remember those marshmallow peanuts too. They were pretty vile.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Tundra Bunny -- Was he wearing a crown while doing it? That's the version I saw. He'd have to fill up quite a few diaperfuls to make that payload.

Not a fan... If that was the only candy available I'd be home free!!! Yuk!!!

The Blog Fodder said...

Must have eaten it when my kids were little. Also necklaces that tasted like soap.

Shammickite said...

I don't think I have ever seen any for sale yet I seem to know what it is..... weird.

DB Stewart said...

Yes! Crayons! That's exactly what they taste like! I've been trying to discern and describe it for years! Insert fist bump here.

Kathy G said...

If I tell you I actually like candy corn does that mean we can't be friends?

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Kathy G -- I will be deeply disappointed in you, but it's not a dealbreaker. Magnanimous, ain't I?

Hi Debra, The comments were as funny as the memes, today. The last one looks like Scott Adams drew it, not that we approve of Adams any more.

I LOVEd this post. I showed them to Tim as I looked through them and that last one with the little corn saying, well I like me, you got an ooooohhhh, out of me and I had NO idea I could stack candy corn to make corn. Mind blown.

Candy corn ain't nothing but sweetened candles!!!! Because it's true!

angela said...

The only reason I know about candy corn is because of the blogs I read. We don’t have it here. I’ve wanted to taste it. But after seeing that little one looking like the orange unmarvelous buffoon. I think I’ve changed my mind

Peppylady (Dora) said...

I like them all in small amount. I guess I have strange diet.

Nothing to do with candy corn but there's an exhibit at Harcourt House Gallery Edmonton, by Noreen Crone Findlay that might interest you if you can get there.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Boud -- Sheesh, how well connected are you that you know about a local art exhibit here in Edmonton, LOL? Actually, Harcourt House Gallery is in my neighbourhood. I'll check it out, thanks!

Oh my word, I never knew Candy Corn stacked up like corn. Why was I never told. I'm so ashamed.
