For today's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of
I love the outrageousness of drag performers' looks,
attitudes, and gender challenges. Here's my portrait of
the fabulous Victoria Sin, done in watercolour paint,
watercolour pencils, and black ink pen.
Sin Wai Kin is a non-binary performance artist known for their
immersive use of fantasy and speculative fiction to create worlds
and characters that reflect on language, reality, time, identity, and duality.
Among their many complex characters is Victoria Sin, a classic drag queen.
If you want to hear Sin Wai Kin's thoughts on
Victoria Sin's purpose and significance, here's a short,
quite fascinating video --

Great portrait and interesting video.
I should have kept reading before I went off on a Google hunt about Victoria Sin (if you didn't know, also the name of a porn star.)
Great hair,
@ Gene Black -- Oops, hahahaha! Bet that woke you up this morning!
I love your portrait; simple but it catches the Sin!!
You really captured her in this portrait. And she definitely has the attitude too. Great job Debra. Have a super weekend ahead too.
You captured her "look" perfectly!
...we enjoyed drag shows in Maui.
Your portrait of Victoria Sin is spectacular. I enjoyed watching the video too, which was beautifully done, artistic, and very insightful. Thanks for sharing!
Great painting!
Great job getting the likeness.
Very cool!
You captured her mug perfectly. The video is fab. Her style of hyperfemininity is totally my cup of tea.
XOXO
She conjures the drag look and culture here quite perfectly.
Well done Debra!
Years and years ago, long before I was even aware of differently gendered people and before my son had revealed himself to BE my son, I saw a program on TV about drag queens and it was quite enlightening. It opened my mind.
I'd never heard of Victoria Sin but what a magnificent creature she is! They are? I am not sure of the pronouns here. They definitely embody the body of fem in our society.
Love your portrait of Victoria. Perfect.
Well done portrait. You capture Sin.
Victoria Sin is an awesome portrait ~ hugs, ^_^
A good portrait, Debra.
I hope Ms Sin starts using your art as her avatar!
Good work!
Cool AF! Love this! Dang -i so need big hair
Hello Debra, You certainly got every bit of that huge hair in there. Also an interesting color scheme--mostly light and muted to really highlight those red, pouty lips. Another masterpiece; you keep showing us new facets of your drawing talent.

Thanks for including the video. I really love your portrait!
I seen one drag show, had blast. Maybe I will soon post about the bathroom law they pass here in Idaho.
Wow Debra. Your drawing is fantastic but that video, I love it. I get what she is saying and it feels profound. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a wonderful weekend.
I’ve not seen the video yet. I will when I’m alone and I don’t have to compete with the telly blasting sports!
I love drag entertainment. I’ve always said I wish I new a drag queen. I’d love for them to make me over.
A very different kind of drag artist, to be sure. You captured their likeness well.
I'd say you captured Victoria's Essence perfectly!!!!
I don't know Sin but your painting is really well done 👏
Enjoy the weekend ahead 🤩🍀
I can't play it here. LOOOOVE the drawing though. Captured well.
Your skills have gotten even better from the last time I checked in! Off to watch the video now.
