I'm taking part today in
Monday Murals hosted by Sami.
This colourful Jester is the logo of the
North America's oldest and largest
annual festival of alternative theatre.
This indoor mural is a large donor recognition wall
located in the Old Strathcona Arts Barns
in the neighbourhood where the
Fringe Festival occurs every August.
I have "fringed" for many years and it's a fun time!

I’ve never been to a fringe festival but know I would love it. Great logo.
...I've never fringed at ours.
I like this, it reminds me of Joan Miro!
It's giving me Madame from Waylon Flowers & Madame vibes. It definitely says fringe!
I'm not familiar with fringe festivals. What happens at them?
Sounds like another reason to travel to Edmonton one summer.
I like the way the artist filled the space while keeping the proportions effective for such a large image.
@ Bob -- OMG you're RIGHT! I never noticed that before, lol!
@ Rommy -- Amateur and emerging playwrights, actors, singers, comedians, drag artists, etc. have the opportunity to present their plays in many, sometimes strange, venues at a reasonable ticket price for a run of 7 to 10 days. Everything about it is weird, funky, and often wildly creative. Pretty much anything goes. Sometimes things that start out as fringe plays end up later as huge mainstream theatrical successes.
Whenever I visit larger cities, I seek out fringe festivals. Cool logo!
In my misspent youth I went a couple of times to the Edinburgh Festival and the Fringe when it started. Great fun.
Fun!
The Perth Fringe Festival just finished a couple of weeks ago :) It's a lovely mural Debra, thanks for participating in Monday Murals.
Our fringe is in June and has grown exponentially over the past 2 years.
@ Boud -- So cool! The legendary Edinburgh Fringe -- the originator and model for all the world's fringe festivals!
I haven't gone to our fringe festival since before the pandemic. Maybe this year.
Well, that's the kind of festivals I like to attend!!
Love the colors and the slightly abstract take.
XOXO
feel free to use my photos with credit as you reqquested!
@ Anonymous -- Thank you so much!
Great logo! If you turn it counter-clockwise a quarter turn it looks like a jester with a funny hat flexing his enormous right arm
A jester logo -- how appropriate! I've always liked Montreal's "Just For Laughs" Comedy Festival logo too.
This looks like so much fun. You are so lucky to live in the city. Enjoy the Fringe Festival.
