Monday Murals -- Round Dance of Hope

I'm taking part today in
Monday Murals hosted by Sami.

This mural depicting an indigenous round dance contains
images of the sacred medicine wheel and an eagle feather.
Drummers provide the rhythmic heartbeat for the dance of life.

This mural is located on a building in Edmonton's inner city
which is an area populated by our urban poor and homeless.

It was painted by local artist Kris Friesen. The mural honours
Hope Hunter, the founder of Boyle Street Community Services,
an Edmonton agency providing programs and services
to those who are marginalized.

Around here we're short on murals. Mainly because we're short on big walls to paint on. This one's exciting, and thank you for the explainer.

The murals are wonderful! Its great to see them. Both Philly and Harrisburg, murals abound...and many are also located in the poorer sections of cities. Which I feel gives some hope.

Beautiful and meaningful mural. The town nearby has several murals on buildings which depict rural scenes.

Awesome!
I’m forever amazed by the artistry of what seems to be so ephemeral.
Awesome theme, also.

XOXO

A beautiful mural and it's wonderful that they are honouring someone who has helped the underprivileged community. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Debra.
