I'm taking part today in
Monday Murals hosted by Sami.
I have not seen this mural in person
because it is found in downtown Montreal,
but I am a huge Leonard Cohen fan,
so I am posting an internet photo of it.
Leonard Cohen (1934 - 2016) was a Canadian
poet and singer-songwriter beloved around the world.
One of Montreal's favourite sons, the city honoured him
in 2017 with this 22-storey, illuminated landmark
mural done by El Mac and Gene Pendon.
I love how the mural depicts the soft glow of his heart chakra
through the fingers of his hand placed upon it.
This so accurately captures his love for humanity,
his compassion for and understanding of our foibles
and weaknesses, his spirituality, and his inner guiding light.
The mural is entitled "Tower of Songs"
as an homage to that song and his work as a whole --

We are soul sisters!! I LOVE Leonard Cohen and had seen him several times. I am debating with myself as The Secret Chord is coming back on stage in July but I've seen it twice already!!!
I have seen the mural, several times, as we go to Montreal to visit family.
This one is really impressive. Almost like a photograph.
Leonard Cohen is kinda the definition of cool, no?
Love the mural!
XOXO
Isn't that a great mural of him? I love his music too!
...he is one of Canada's many gifts to the world!
How wonderful.. The mural AND the video.
My all-time favorite recording of his music is KD Lang (talk about a voice!).
@ whkattk -- Yes, I saw her live in concert a couple of times performing "Hallelujah" -- it always brought down the house!
Wow! This is a stunning mural. A beautiful tribute to Leonard Cohen. Thanks for sharing.
I enlarged the mural photo, and saw the 💓beatings of his heart ...and listened to the video...
Thanks for both 😍
Oh my. heart....forever.
My friend and I were young, living in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, but we had Leonard and her bedroom turn table, and candles and we listened for hours, we read his poetry, it settled in our bones
Nicely done.
So wonderful, Debra.
Dear Debra, this post is beautiful. I love the mural, and I love Leonard Cohen. His poetry, his music and his personality.
Thank you so much for sharing.
My new Monday post is up but unfortunately didn't show up in Blogger news reader.
I have mentioned about the issues on my post as well as when to expect my new posts.
Thank you so much for sharing, dear friend, you are a light and I appreciate you.
Are there people who don't like Leonard Cohen? I love his face in this mural...it says so much
A monumental mural for a monumental man!
What a wonderful mural! Leonard Cohen was a giant so it's appropriate that it's 22 storeys tall! Love the subtle heart light...
So debonair.
I love Leonard Cohen. I have his Live in London CD sitting on my desk. I need to listen to it more.
Spécial et Sublime.
Cohen, fils fier de Montréal :)

That is an incredible mural. If I ever get to Montreal it is on my to-do list.
Isn’t that lovely
Yes, I like him too. Nice mural.
Fantastic! You should plan a trip to Montreal to see it in person.
Kathy G. -- Who knows what the future holds? I was only ever in Montreal once, in 1978.
