It's Robbie Burns Day!

In honour of Robbie Burns Day, I present . . . not one of his immortal poems, not one of his beloved songs, not even a photo of a haggis, but instead . . . a video of the condom bagpipe.

Now this is not as disrespectful as you might think because, after all, two of Robbie Burns' greatest passions were bagpipes and screwing. However, if he'd had access to condoms, he would have produced fewer bairns out of wedlock and then half of Scotland would not now be able to claim direct descent from him.

Like Bacon's wee granny doesn't have a huge collection of condoms in her wee handbag...that and a whole mess of stolen pens.

I laughed so much at this...thank you!! :D

I had to send a link to my brother, the bagpipe player, and my mom, whose favorite poet to hate is Bobbie Burns but finds herself constantly thrown into the way of his poetry since she is around Scottish culture quite frequently. Maybe this will help her appreciate Bobbie Burns Day.

Brilliant! We just had a Robbie Burns night at our local Irish Heritage Center (the Scottish rented it out), and it was a hoot.

Hilarious!!!! ... especially the last bit, and the sassy, raised eyebrows of the musician!
:-D

I found something for you, Debra ... a most succulent gingerbread recipe ... definitely not suitable for making houses, 'cause it's filled with -- wait for it -- a cheesecake cream! Drooling yet? ;-D

Hilarious, i love it! and oh so true, though living in the midst, i am oft suprised to hear quite a few scots not being partial to the sound of burns ringing out, a bit over rated they say!

I've been home sick and bored out of my mind and thought to myself if I had a bagpipe, I could blow condoms up on it just for shit and giggles all day!!!

Actually, I suspect just as many Scots would claim to be descendants, it's just that more would be lying about it than are now.
