Another Japanese Treat: Pickles on a Stick

The Japanese have a different idea than we do about what constitutes a yummy fast-food snack. Anyone up for a pickle on a stick? The vats in this kiosk are full of slender cucumbers impaled on wooden sticks and marinating in salt water. My Rare One bought one and enjoyed it tremendously. In fact, now that we're home, she's making her own pickles on a stick in the refrigerator!

A lot less calories with a pickle on a stick than a bowl full of chips!

I'm in. I see Mermaids pickle on a stick, the Rare Ones cheese on a stick and I will raise you a large wine in a glass.

Ok, but do they TASTE like pickles? Because I am one of those crazy I-love-pickles-but-hate-cucumbers people. Or do they just taste like salty cucumbers? Because then, I'll have to pass.

But still. Anything on a stick, is kind of awesome. Scary. But awesome.
