Passover on the High Seas

Here's a bit of rollickin' good piratical fun
to celebrate Passover (March 27 to April 4)!

The Jewish a cappella group Six13 has joined
the sea shanty bandwagon to sing a few
well-known sailing songs (with altered lyrics)
to celebrate the holiday and freedom!

Love the kippah-yarmulke-eye-patches and
spork-hand-prosthesis, LOL!

I wonder why sea shanty singing has taken off in such a big way during the Pandemic.

Loves it!
We were celebrating Passover on Sunday (I'm Jewish by contact, Catholic by exertion) and this totally nails it!

XOXO

This is why I have to cut short my gin infused lunches with Anne Marie...she starts singing dirty seas shanties.

Oy! The best mash-up yet! I was hesitant to click on it because that darned Wellerman is such an earworm, but it was worth it. And, omg, the three hour tour on the Egyptian Nile! Hilarious!

That reminds me: My grandfather never ever paid me (nor anyone else) for stealing the afikoman. That must be how I lost my faith.

We sing the original in choir
This is better

Oh, that is such clever filk singing! And they got in those two cute kids AND Gilligan’s Island! You’ve done it again, Debra! I skipped across to their YouTube channel and subscribed.

Now that, was worth pausing my blog scrolling for. Excellent mash-up and excellent video. If you celebrate, have a very excellent Passover.

"Just when you think it's done, there's three hours more."
No thank you. More than 45 minutes is overkill.

Pascha. Never celebrated even though there's a Jew in our family. He's very secular and I don't think he's practiced after his bar mitzvah.

That is brilliant.

Brilliant, I hummed along with it! Love the eye patches and metal hand! The children are cute. Happy Passover if you celebrate.

OK, this is cool. I still miss rice though! (My husband and kids are Jewish and go hard core on the rules for Passover).
