Personally, I like tattoos and am always interested
in hearing the stories behind them.
But I know not everyone is a fan.
Here's some handy-dandy tips
when thinking about getting a tat --
(1) Tattoo removal is painful and expensive,
so be sure before you get one!
(2) Go to a reputable tattoo artist!
(3) Do your research on your tattoo
before you get it inked!
(4) Don't be too literal!
(5) Try to get one that's useful
as well as attractive, if you can!
But yes, there will always be
those who will judge you harshly
for your skin art.
Need some snappy comebacks
to deal with those who disapprove?
Feel free to use any of these!
And I saved the best for last --

hahahahahaahah the last one hahaha
Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I laughed out loud at the first one.
I have many times considered getting a tattoo, but I've yet to be certain about what I want and where I want it!
The measurement on the leg is practical.
Never been a fan - I think they look like bruises. But I generally keep that opinion to myself and live and let live.
I'm a tattoo fan, and watch a ton of shows dedicated to them. It's fascinating to see the artwork that people come up with, and the skill associated with it. But if a person isn't good at it, they shouldn't put something permanent on a customer. They should practice with dolls or perfect it on paper first.(lol) I've seen some crazy things in my lifetime(lol) I have 3 tattoos, but the one that gets the most attention are the lips. People think it's sexual which makes me smile, but the reason I got it is because I love Marilyn Monroe and just wanted to show off her red lips on my chest.(lol) Happy weekend and hugs, RO
I have six, and I like' em. But then I see guys like Adam Levine, who does look like a bathroom wall, and I think 'Yuck.'
That said: "but your marriage isn't" slayed me!
The last is best!!! I don't have any but enjoy them on other people.
I have never been willing to make that much of a commitment to anything but my sweet bear. Once in a while I see art that is well planned, and well done. Often it is a collection of random thoughts of the moment.
These are so funny!!!
these are hysterical! i have 7 but i don't think they age well. i've been really tempted to do sleeves. it would cover up a lot of sun damage!
Oh I adore the Disney one. Disney will probably sue the poor person into oblivion, but it will have been worth it.
Hello Debra, The marriage retort backfires--the aunt is rid of her loser spouse, but that questionable tattoo is for keeps. I have seen a lot of the Chinese character for love, mostly in America, but why get tattooed in a language you don't understand? Incidentally, I have never seen a Chinese tattoo that I was able to read that had an odd or inappropriate meaning.

"Mechanic on duty, pickled eggs" that one got me laughing so freaking hard.... I have three little tattoos. I like them because they do have meaning for me, but never again. It hurt like hell!
I always figured I had enough scars without adding one in color on purpose.
Tattoos aren't for me. I often wonder what people who are covered in them - face, neck, body etc will look like when they are old and wrinkly - pretty awful is my guess.
these are great! i currently have 2 tattoos but have plans for about 3 or 4 more. :-)
with love,

I love all of those. Not tattoos, just the comics about them.
Long ago on the bob newhart show, the secretary was going to get a tatt removed from what we conclude was her butt, judging from all the awkward avoiding the censor language.
She said it was a big butterfly when she had it done, and over the years it's shrunk to a raisin!
I'm not a big fan of them usually
I have a feeling we're gonna be seeing a lot of the last woman in the years to come.... especially in retirement homes. Let's hope testicle tattoos don't become mainstream too, LOL!
HAHAHA! Loved these! I'm hoping to get a tattoo within the next year, depending on how things go. I've always wanted one and I'm going to just do it.
I don't have any myself but the friendship one looks interesting.
Is that last gal a 44 long?
I have thought about getting one. And I think "why not? why the heck not?"
Ah, yes. Behind the girls.
A great collection. The blank baby and ruler on the leg are my favorites.
Where to begin... These are all so good. My father’s best friend was a Navy man. He had a mermaid on one arm, ship’s anchor on the other, and a battleship on his chest. He would show us every time we visited. When he was in his 60s, the mermaid had sagged, anchor had melted, and the battleship had sunk.
Adam Levine is the first gas station bathroom wall I wouldn‘t mind running my hands over.
My eyebrows are permanent make-up that's not so permanent, however, they are tattoos! Had them done so long ago they have faded so much that I have to fill in my brows with pencil. Damn!
Sent your blog to my grandson since he has tats and planning to get a bunch more! He got a good laugh from them, too!
The blank baby proves Lysenko was wrong. Friendship and the Bathroom wall made me laugh. All good ones
Not really a fan..Maybe a little rose, a bee, a butterfly hidden away somewhere..I really don't like the total body thing..I just have to imagine what they will look like on old saggy skin..They also could hide skin cancers..Fun post!! Why would anyone tattoo a dog??
I wrote it...hope I published it...LOL
I love the last one so much! I can't wait to send it to... a few people. Bwahahaha!
I love the bathroom wall one.
@ This N That -- Yes, it published, LOL! I just assumed the dog's tattoo was done by the vet after neutering but then I thought: isn't is OBVIOUS if a male dog is neutered? Why would a tat be necessary? HRH had a tattoo inside her ear with an ID number in case she got lost. She thought that tat made her a real cool badass.
I must say, I'm not the biggest fan.
I wouldn't get one myself because I just don't have the patience to sit for a tattoo, and I'd probably end changing my mind afterwards. That said, I do like the Tramp postage stamp, postmark and all. It's clever. Too many tattoos are skulls, a cliché if there ever was one.
As for Adam Levine, he's a definite improvement over a bathroom wall. After all, tiles don't give off body heat!
Omgoodness, every single one was a gem! When my husband died, I thought about getting one in French that said, "you are missing from me", and almost eight years later I am glad that I did not. I am a clean slate. However, I find other peoples tattoos quite interesting.
I recall tattoo being for so call bad or criminals. But it seem quite a few people have them. I'm actual thinking of getting a broom and write in arch around the top "sweep away injustice"
Coffee is on and stay safe
It took me a while to get used to so many people having lots of tats. It doesn't bother me anymore and I think they can be pretty interesting.
Love,
Janie
Haha these made me laugh. My daughters have tats. I don't like them on hands and faces.
I'm sure some of those Chinese tattoos say "Kung Pao Chicken" or "Moo Goo Gai Pan"
And you must have missed the cartoon of the two old guys in rocking chairs at the old folks home saying "an eagle? a mermaid?" with the caption, "Residents play a game of guess what the tattoos USED TO be.
These are hilarious! I don't have any ink but my daughter does. I haven't ruled it out, but I've never been willing to commit -- yet!
So hilarious. No tattoos for me except for my eyelids...Years ago, I went with my mom to have eyeliner tattooed. She went first. I asked if it hurt and she said not really. My turn, it hurt like hell....That's it for me.
That last one... bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Love the fish one and the last one. Which reminds of a blog post I was going to do ...
I'm not a fan of tattoos for myself, but I don't really give a shit about what other people do to themselves. These were quite funny---love the EFF UU under old lady boobs. :)
abby got a henna shell tattoo on he arm and was very proud of it..I'm getting a new one in a month or two..will show it on ydg..
"Fuck You"! LOL! You are brilliant Deb! LOL! Big Hugs!
