Let's Talk Tarot

I know several of you out there are fans of tarot, so I thought you might be interested in a wonderful tarot blog and YouTube channel that I've been enjoying very much lately.

The Mystical Empowerment blog (click here) and YouTube channel (click here) are the creations of Martha, whom many of you may know from her delightfully funny blog Plowing Through Life. But Martha is also an expert tarot reader! On her tarot blog and video channel, she regularly features posts on specific tarot cards, walk-throughs of various tarot/oracle card decks, videos about her extensive collection of decks, and fun tarot tips on short spreads for quick answers like this one --

I must confess that Martha is inadvertently being a bad influence on me because I now have a list as long as my arm of new tarot decks and oracle card decks which I want to buy! But seriously, thanks to Martha, I again have a rejuvenated enthusiasm for exploring all the ins and outs of this fascinating area of interest.

Please check out her online tarot sites -- you won't be disappointed!

OMG yes!
I love Tarot readings. I'm totally bookmarking her. I've wanted a Tarot reading for the longest time now. It's like a living, moving moodboard.

Oh, Debra, thank you so much! I'm really touched by this post and I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you've written. I really needed this kindness and thoughtfulness today. It couldn't have come at a better time. 🤗💛 (By the way, I should have a walkthrough of a very interesting deck this Sunday that I've been working with for a while. You've been warned! And I love that first image of the tarot reader. I'm stealing it!)

I don't know much about Tarot cards, but you have my interest piqued.

I have several decks of tarot cards. Some I've bought myself, some others have given me. I definitely will visit her sites.

I don't need much nudging to check out tarot sites! LOL, I have more decks than I need and my children seem to be turning into tarot enthusiasts, just like me. :D

All right, since you're twisting my arm. Once there, I'm sure my list of to-be-acquired tarot deck might explode. :-D

Well I went to Martha's youtube site and one thing lead to another and a half an hour later I thought I need to move on!

My sister is the taro whiz in my family. She won't read for many people, mostly for herself.

I know nothing about tarot, so I guess I'll check Martha's channel as soon as I finish this comment.

I had a fairly long run of reading the cards for my circle of friends. At that time I was definitely in the groove and felt the interpretations came at least partly from the aether.
Sadly, that circle of friends is now scattered and I haven't had or given a reading in quite some time. I'm going to check out Martha's site and risk the lure of new decks and new spreads. Sounds like my kind of niche! Thanks for the tip!

I do forget how prolific she is on her other blog.

I'm not super into tarot. Never had my fortune read. Just seen it in movies and tv

Yes, Tarot can be amazing help for people.

Years ago a friend read my fortune in her tarot cards and scared the shit out of me by how accurate the cards fell. Someday I'll tell you the story over a bottle of scotch. I have never had it done again.
Have you ever read "The Magus"?

I’ve never done a Tarot reading, but I do love the artistry of the cards. Will definitely visit Martha’s site.

Whatever the fortune being told, I do like that artwork on many of those cards.

@ The Blog Fodder -- Yes, I'd love to hear your tarot story! I started to read "The Magus" once a gazillion years ago but couldn't get into it. Maybe it's time to try again.

Thanks for featuring Martha, Debra! I catch her instagram posts, and I've watched some of her videos. Martha is talented and perceptive, and I'm so glad that she is a blogging buddy of mine. I remember when you did a tarot series based on Edmonton. You're so clever! The tarot is fascinating! I hope that you are having a fun weekend.

I respect Tarot, but i can't use it. I am too likely to force it into what i want to see. I could never do a reading for myself. I could never trust a reader, just because.
So i am stuck with looking at the sky and watching birds. I used to use I Ching with the coins. It was helpful.

I have got the words "inside voice".
As you are, I am interested in a lot of traditional kites.

Every Sunday I exchange readings with my friend Eileen; we have been doing this for decades.
Once in a while I get out my collection of decks and think perhaps to get a new one. I want it to be special, where I get it and how etc.

Someday I need to get a Tarot reading to see what it is like!

I meant to comment on this post earlier. But the blog you mentioned, sounds like an awesome site. And since I love tarot (and oracle) cards I'm going to go follow it, because I've been looking for a blog centered on that for a long time.

I don't believe in tarot, but I do like the aesthetic of it. There was a shop in Montreal, not sure if it still exists, that sold tarot decks. We bought one for a friend. Also Anthony Burgess, my favourite writer, made his own tarot cards.
