Haters

Here's an oldie but a goodie
from the pandemic --

I hope any Christians who are haters
believe equally firmly in the afterlife as well --

Newsflash! What haters don't understand
and don't want to understand --

Buh-bye, haters! Kisses!

A good number of years ago a friend, who'd worked with boys in the sex trade in Phnom Penh, explained to me why the "hate the sin etc" was wrong. Up till then it was what we'd been taught in church. (The friend, working for a Christian organisation, set up a safe community coffee shop in the centre of the red light district. It was called The Message Parlour which I think is a brilliant name.)

Love the grammar one.

That suggestion to improve the neighborhood by moving is a favorite!

My son definitely will never learn hatred.

Oh, I am going to be using that, "I hate the belief, but love the believer" line.

Also, I know some guys who will be hearing about their gender reassignment trucks.

I need to learn how to steal these

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Travel -- Here's how I do it: click and drag the meme off the original site and put it in a photo folder, then upload it from there to my draft blog post.

I like all of these today.

Great selection. I must tell you I cringed when I read "Who their around 8 hrs a day." The misuse of their, there, they're, than, then, make me stop and shake my head. Then I read the rest of the meme...exactly!

Oh, and I absolutely LOVE the gender reassignment trucks!!!

These are all GOLD! I love every single one.

These should return again and again.

"Not pie ..." and "you can move" excellent advise and information for the haters in our world.

Old Lurker said...

The "you could move" line is cute but sad, given that lots of white folks did exactly that. We can point to that sentiment as the reasons behind (a) redlining and (b) white flight.

Marie Smith said...

The phobia is definitely wrong.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Old Lurker -- The sentiment behind redlining/white flight is racism/homophobia/hate, not the sentiment to leave minorities alone.

Great collection. Morgan Freeman made me LOL.

I love the gays leading Jesus...

All a bunch of good one today, Debs!!!! The first could and has been a sign I have seen in New Hope. It's what I loved about living there, the shop keepers and eateries gave no fucks what their signs said.

Old Lurker said...

@Debra: Fair enough. "sentiment" is poor phrasing. The white-flighters did not share Dear Abby's sentiments, but they sure took her advice.

Great line-up today -- the chemistry meme showing how fear and ignorance becomes distilled into hate is spot on!

Hate is powerful negative and ugly word.
Coffee is on and stay safe

OMG! These are great, Debra! Of course I connected with their, they're, and there. If you only knew how many hours I spent on those damn words over my teaching career. The MAGA guy has a stunning lack of self-awareness ~ lol ~ Sadly, it's so true! Have a great weekend

Excellent! It's not a phobia; you're not scared. You're an asshole.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ G.B. Miller -- Hi G.B., sorry but my mouse accidentally slipped when I was moderating your comment and it clicked "delete" instead of "publish." So I copied your comment and am pasting it in here so people can read it --

"I actually dislike the word "homophobia", if only it's used so often and for so many situations (both legit and not) that it becomes a crutch for some people to use when they can't differentiate between the two aforementioned scenarios.

The memes that you'd posted are spot on though."

Great choices all of them.

The "whole, entire personality" comic nails it.

Ugh, these are all so good, D. Unfortunately, the haters have become emboldened and dangerous.
I especially liked the Hate the belief, Love the believer and It's not Pie.
Thanks for posting!

Still busy with life changes and nonsense, but Happy Pride Month Debra, to you and yours.

Haters are not able to jump out of their consciousness. Communication must stand between them and others.

Once, I told one of my gay friends that I think gays should all go backto their country. He told me: "Oh please tell me which country it is!"

Cooper Do-Nuts Riot is easy to find on internet. Wikipedia has a decent article as an introduction. I was 1 year old.
I enjoy learning about history.

Yes! Hate is a choice. And I laughed more than I probably needed to with Morgan Freeman. That pretty much summarizes it. People should stop being a$$holes with their ignorance and hate. The suggestion for the bigot to move, so the neighourhood can improve is a real hoot! BAHAHAHA OHMYGOSH, these were all amazing.

A cosmic question: how does one respond to hate/haters? I try to take the Malala Yousafzai approach but I feel so often this isn't going to work.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Richard -- Thanks for that reference -- you've taught me something new today!

Love this. The Morgan Freeman quote is my favorite. Simply said!

Can we SHOUT this a little bit louder for the ignorant??

I'm so glad I'm only half-assedly posting a few random pride memes. I could never compete with you. Well done!

It's not just about acceptance, it's about challenging negative attitudes and hate.

My daughter said that they did not go to the Pride Parade because they were afraid of any violence in front of their son. On the other hand, they did get decked out and painted up for Gay Night at the Astros BB game.
