Who DOESN'T Love Raccoons?

This poor little bitter vocabulary purist
is one of my favourite TV commercials
at the moment --

And of course, can't forget
my favourite
Marvel superheroes --

The Raccoon Bros!

Oh shit.

With exception to the dark circles...I might be a racoon!!!

The Wendy's wrapper one was a good one, those rascals.

These aren't just good. They're gooder.

Hello Debra, When I lived out in the country, raccoons were a fact of life. Efforts to keep them out of the garbage were useless--it was easier just to get used to continually cleaning it up. --Jim

This is good bait to get poor Steven from sooo-this-is-me out of hiding, but I don't think it is going to work.

I seldom see one here.

I’ve only ever seen one raccoon in the wild and it was a beauty. Love them but I haven’t had any experiences with them like many people do.

Based on the description, I am a racoon.
Now I'm off to find a garbage can cuz I'm hangry!

They're an annoying fact of life but great cartoon material. The masks! Burglars!

Love the Wendie's wrapper one. WE don't have the joy of raccoons here of course.

If tall and chubby counts, then I'm a racoon. Does it matter if the staying up all night is because of peeing?
These are too funny!

I am friendly to racoons. These were funny.

The video led to another video. It's a new hobby for you to get into. I think it's a Canadian thing...

@ Mike -- OH. MY. GAWD. This video is just crazy nuts. "If you feed them, they will come." Thanks for the link!

Holy Jeebus, I... AM...A...RACCOON! Except for digging through garbage bins -- I pay full price for my junk food at the grocery store, LOL!

OMG did you go see Guardians of the Galaxy 3???
It's all about Rocket Raccoon and I literally teared up. Darn!
And I have discovered I'm a raccoon. Literally.

XOXO

@ Sixpence Notthewiser -- I haven't seen the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie yet -- will wait for it to be streamed on Disney+. But I know it deals with Rocket Raccoon's tragic back story -- one which parallels the forced experimentation and abusive creation of the Winter Soldier, by the way, so there's another good reason they're bonded as the Raccoon Bros, apart from the eyeblack and mutual love of prosthetic arms.

Fun post. I've never seen a raccoon

As long as there's garbage, the racoon is one species that will never go extinct. There's got to be some kind of ecological irony there.

The raccoon in our area [very rural] never eat our trash, they just feasted on our chickens and generally eat everyone's sweet corn in their gardens.
They are funny and very smart creatures.
Rocket is my hero though!

HAHA! These are hilarious. Who hasn't snuck in a wrapper or two in the garbage from time to time.

The GoodFood ad is great; never heard of them!
We have ONE large raccoon that visits our property daily. (maybe she/he lives here?) Anyhoo, the raccoon is all over our outdoor kitchen looking for stuff and leaves paw prints on the grill cover and all over my sliding glass doors. I'm sure I'll see it looking IN one day while preparing dinner. :)

OK, I fit the profile... that's disturbing.

I've had too many interactions with racoons to find them cute and cuddly. There are some in my neighborhood who are enormous and travel in a pack - I'm pretty sure they are (partly) responsible for many of the 'lost cat' posters. Well, add the coyotes to that list of suspects. Cartoon racoons are cute, though. Dang it!

I guess there are some similarities...sad but true!!

@ Mike -- OH. MY. GAWD. It gets way colder than -6C where Debra lives. She's going to need a lot of hotdogs.

I prefer raccoons to skunks, which is what we usually get in our bins back in Chicoutimi.

On a side note, we say cat burglars, but why not raccoon burglars? They already have masks and gloves.

Trash panda 🦝

I love them. Dear Lord, bless this food and the car that prepares it. If only we could tell them about cars! But no, they won't listen.
Depending on who is talking, i say Racoon or, i can say Mapache. We have recipes for both.
I love these animals. They are brave, intelligent, resourceful and charming. Trash panda is a misnomer.
Probably they keep being roadkill, because they know that they are the best. I like them.

was enjoying this a lot until the video
yes my nation can relate to this so well now days because of the record breaking inflation "what people supposed to eat around here "??

Love the Wendy's wrapper in the driveway😂😂😂

Fundy Blue said...

How can you not love a raccoon? These are hilarious, as usual, Debra! I loved the Wendy's wrapper one and the Goodfood's video. Food waste is a huge issue. I say bring on the raccoons!

Polly said...

ha, ha, love them, especially the re-cycling, the Wendy wrapper and "dear lord bless this meal! I followed the link that Mike posted, OMG all those tubby little raccoons that the lovely guy is feeding up for winter.

Polly said...

P.S. the Marvel raccoon looks great.

Ur-spo said...

Poor raccoons. They don't get no respect.

I'm more partial to foxes, but you've set out a good case for racoons. LOL the Racoon Brothers cracked me up.
