All are good, but the ones on jury duty made me feel guilty. I was summoned to be on-call for Federal jury duty for the month of March. I'm retired and I actually love jury duty...since well before I was a true crime nerd. But, now my body is too old and infirm to be able to sit for hours at a time so I had to get excused. I actually feel bad. Am I crazy for not celebrating?! 🤪🥺
OMG. These were too funny. I LOL'd at the Tailor and the criminal cat! I received my $15 check a few weeks ago for Jury Duty. Still not sure what I should splurge on...
These were great, Debra! How many did you see in your courtroom? I loved the Hallelujah and the tailor but laughed at them all.
I've been called for jury duty several times. I served on a regular jury and a month of grand jury. It's a fascinating window into the community and the legal system.
@ e -- The very first time I ever made a court appearance, I managed (very innocently) to piss off a crotchety old judge who positively screamed at me from the bench in front of a courtroom packed with other lawyers also making docket appearances. An inauspicious and humiliating experience. But ever afterwards, that old bastard judge was always sweet as pie to me. I think he felt bad about his treatment of me that day.
Well if I decide to start my life of crime, I can point to this visit as to what led me to that path. I will probably have to wait until the kids are out of the house before I try that finger trick. Good stuff, Debra.
I haven't had a life of crime. Maybe there is still some time. I could steal a donated book in our retirement village library, and no one would notice.
Hilarious, Debra! I just got called for jury duty in Denver's Federal Court. But I can get an exemption because of my age. For once I'm grateful to be over 70 ~ lol!
Oops I put my comment for this series in the next series. I'm sorry I've been scattered and MIA. I can't even say it'll get better. But my attention is quite divided. Perhaps it's because I'm a cancer with my rising sign, Capricorn. Or maybe just because I'm quite busy.
