For this week's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of
DVArtist, Art, Food, Gardening blog . . .
Here's a drawing of Audrey Hepburn
that I did a couple of months ago
in my ink and wash art class.
I drew her in water-soluble black ink
which then, through use of a wet brush,
became the source of the ink wash for shading.
I should have used a lighter touch
with the ink wash on her ear.
It looks kind of sore and inflamed.
Sorry, Audrey!

She is beautiful; well done 🎭🧡
...I'm sure that she doesn't mind!!!
You did a very nice job. I don't think the ear looks bad, just very shadowed.
Lovely.
And this is how we learn! Love it!
Looks good!
Wow, you really captured Audrey. Wonderful work Debra.
Very good
Beautiful and I didn't even notice the ear until you mentioned it. You're an excellent artist!
Just want to thank you for the link to Waging non-violence. I will share it with friends and neighbors.
Very nice.
And I don't think I've seen her portrayed with her eyes closed before...
XOXO
She was such a lovely person.
Audrey would love this!
Audrey is a star, the people never forget! A wonderful drawing indeed.
Possibly, but I couldn't begin to do something as good as that.
This is a fabulous portrait, love it. Her ear is just in shadow. Hugs, Valerie
Nice one!
Ha! I didn't notice the "inflammation" till you pointed it out -- and really, I think you're selling yourself short. It's lovely, Debra. And thank you for coming by today, too!
Those eyes! Moody and memorable.
Thumbs UP!
Audrey Hepburn had such a lovely face that she was one of very few people who could looked great wearing a very short pixie hair cut.
I think your drawing is great.
Lovely portrait of Audrey Hepburn ~ you captured her 'essence' ~ hugs,

Nice job but yes the ear does look a bit inflammed. Maybe she froze it? Did you watch Breakfast at Tiffanys? I hated it and quit half way through. Cannot stand mindless female characters. Loved her in My Fair Lady and have yet to watch Roman Holiday
Poor Audrey and her inflamed ear - that cracked me up.
It's obvious who it is, despite the inflamed ear! Your talent is amazing.
@ The Blog Fodder -- You know, I've never seen "Breakfast at Tiffanys" or "Roman Holiday." I should get around to watching them someday. I have seen "My Fair Lady" though and enjoyed her performance and (dubbed) singing.
AH a personal hero. A brave woman.
Wow! She is gorgeous. I have never tried the water-soluble black ink. It has a very nice effect. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a nice weekend.
Wonderful drawing. I really the like the ink and wash style
I thought her ear was in shade so it didn't look too dark to me.
I doubt she'd be insulted. She'd be honored. It looks like a sophisticated and striking Audrey to me. You capture her well.
Beautiful, Debra! Her ear looks like an elf ear. I'm thinking Arwen.
I think she is lovely; well done my friend!
Well, you sure draw way better than I do.
