@ Boud -- I believe they started as fair food, yes. But in Canada, you can buy them frozen in a box, microwavable for home consumption. They're called "Pogos" here and are very popular. Between Pogos and Poutine, Canadians are doomed, bloody doomed.
@ Bob -- I've only had Beef Wellington once, years and years ago at some fancy-shmancy dinner hosted (and paid for) by some big legal organization or another. I was just getting over a horrible cold and my sense of taste was gone. So, yes, I had Beef Wellington but it was completely wasted on me. Alas!
We went to Fremont Street maybe 10 years ago. Corn dog, then deep fried twinkies, oreos, and butter. I don't recommend that meal combo - after the deep fried oreo, I thought I was gonna puke.
I have never had one and the last hotdog š I ever had, made me so sick due to the sulfites used in processing! Same goes for wine! Thankfully, I prefer bourbon and water and Sonic cheeseburgers! š
I can't say why, but never in my life have I eaten a corn dog. Maybe because I don't recall ever seeing one ... domesticated or in the wild, but "meat twinkie" sounds just so right.
š¤ I have KNOWN a lot of meat twinkies...they were often my bosses and, even though they had sticks up their butts, they were quite tasteless!! 𤣠The real ones, though...yummy! I satisfy my desire about once a month! šš¤¤
Love the laffs, and LOVE a corn dog! I had one in May at our local Rose Festival. Any time I go to a fair or some such I will have a corn dog with plenty of mustard. I don't buy the frozen kind, it's just not the same. I'm probably going to start thinking of them as Meat Twinkies, though...
Hey, I admit it, I like corn dogs! I don't eat hot dogs at all anymore, I know they are not good for you. I am old and have to take better care of myself. LOL.
They really don't appeal to me..I'm pretty sure I've never had one..I prefer Beef Wellington...The hot dogs in the pot with the corn on the cob would be OK!!
We have special ones around here called Pronto Pups and they are dipped in mustard. We get them every year when we go to the fair so my corn dog absence is not as great as I would like to admit.
I tried one at a fair in 1977 and it was so disgustingly greasy, I spit it out into a trashcan. That was my first and last Pogo! Despite being Canadian, I must also confess to never having eaten poutine either, but I'd crawl over broken glass for a Caribou steak, LOL!
When we had our dog (Sheltie), we would take him to State fairs (in his wagon, forbid he would want to walk...). I always got him a corn dog. It was 8 years or so ago when I last bought one.
I love the superman one and the sad story. I think corndog is what we call a hot dog, eaten in a long roll with onions and tomato ketchup. I like them but can't remember the last time I had one.

I haven't even seen a corn dog š¤
At last evening's dinner I eat a corn cob šš¼š
...something that I have never had.
Sadly, I don't think I ever have.
I've never had one. I don't like them...but Meat Twinkies on the other hand......... lmao!!!!!!
It's been years since I had one.
Corn dog recipes..that works for me!
Never even seen one. Maybe they're street fair food?

@ Mistress Maddie -- Oh, I knew you'd like that term!
It's been eons, perhaps at a fair or something when I lived in California, but I will say, I do love a corndog!
And they're right about Beef Wellington, it's just an elitist corndog
never..... but that's more a case of availability..... and being pescetarian as well wouldn't help me......

I can't remember the last time I had a corndog, but I do enjoy them.
I never remember eating one. Maybe as a child…

Codex: I tried one and never again.
I absolutely have no idea when I last ate a corndog but I am certain I enjoyed it and had it with mustard only which is the way I like them.

Hahahahaha
Oh, the lady fighting Satan with a corndog!
Also, 'meat twinkie' sent me.
XOXO

I've never had one and likely never will.
I've not tried corndogs - lucky or not? They don't look appetizing, at least the pictures.
Have a lovely day.

OMG! Someone overheard me talking to my husband when I mentioned to him to pick up a box of meat twinkies in the frozen section.
I can't recall my last corn dog...must have been...underwhelming. ;)
It's been quite awhile. I know I loved them as a kid and have enjoyed them as an adult(?) but I can't really remember the last time I had one.
It's probably been 5 years since I had a corn dog. But, you know, perhaps it's time.
Corn dog Thursday anybody? š
Beef Wellington and the corn dog made me laugh. I have never in my life had a corn dog. I’m not a big fan of meat on a stick.
I get them occasionally when they serve them in our school cafeteria. They usually serve them with tator tots!
I don't think I've ever had one. If I did it's been erased from my memory.
Hey, I admit it, I like corn dogs! I don't eat hot dogs at all anymore, I know they are not good for you. I am old and have to take better care of myself. LOL.
Corndogs was my favorite in the childhood
I haven't had a corn dog in decades.
I haven't had a corn dog in years. Now I want one.
Never! But I like that Superman joke.
I confess to at least 2 this year from Sonic.
Every so often, and I mean not often. I will have a corn dog.
I've never had one. If I can't put ketchup and mustard on a hot dog, I don't want it.

@ Tundra Bunny -- Hmmm, I wonder if any Canadian chef has ever attempted to make Caribou Wellington?
I have never had corn dogs, they are not popular in Greece.
I have had Beef Wellington and they are very delicious!!
