It's World Labyrinth Day Today!

World Labyrinth Day is celebrated every year on the first Saturday of May. Held since 2009, this new event was created by The Labyrinth Society in order to celebrate labyrinths "as a symbol, a tool, a passion or a practice." Some ways to celebrate include: educating the public, hosting walks, building permanent or temporary labyrinths, creating labyrinth art, etc. As you may recall from a previous post, The Labyrinth Society also helped to create the popular World-Wide Labyrinth Locator.

This morning I will walk the Riverdale Labyrinth here in Edmonton. And this afternoon I may rake and tidy up our backyard labyrinth if the soil is now dry enough (the snow has only recently melted in that part of our yard).

PS..this is Ron..I just sought out the labyrinth locators in NS and it turns out I know one of the people promoting their walks. Small world or is it a small province!

I've always wanted a stone labyrinth in my backyard....perhaps one day I'll get to that big project.

Enjoy your day!

I was introduced to labyrinth walking 8 yers ago. There are two public ones here and then there are 4 that you can make appointments to walk. I didn't realize the meditative qualities before, but now I can't go without the walks now. How fabulous that you have one in your yard.
The kids have drawn one on the driveway several times and now they know how intricate a job it is. Happy DAY.

One of my neighbors made a labyrinth in her backyard. I need to go visit her. I suggested we have lunch back there, and I would bring some wonderful music, fruits and nuts...

A friend of mine mentioned the labyrinth at her UU church (a local one). I looked it up, and you can see it here: 3315 El Salido Parkway, Cedar Park, TX.
