Remember This Little Guy?

My Nordic gnome objected very strenuously to being put away until next December. He wanted to remain out and about, so I had to find a new household job for him to perform, in order to prevent him from simply running amok making mischief. Wrangling Christmas cards is a seasonal task only.

Therefore, he is now the Permanent Official Guardian of The Big Basket of Cushions in the living room and has settled into his new responsibilities quite well.

And he is no longer nameless. Because of his rather magnificent beard, he has proudly taken the moniker of:

Fearsome the Fierce!

He chose this name because he is a great admirer of the blog Fearsome Beard and checks out the featured "Beard of the Day" regularly, if you know what I mean.

Hello Debra, Do they also scrub floors? Maybe I need a Nordic gnome for myself!

I hope you are feeding little Fearsome oatmeal with butter, or he might get grumpy.

Who wouldn't want the job of guardian of the cushions? But if he gets out of line again, HRH may need to have a word with him. That should set him straight.

Congratulations on your new job, Mr. Fierce! I hope Debra's paying you a living wage and adhering to all provincial Labour Laws, or at least minimum wage plus room & board, LOL!

Awesome! I have 3 Gnomes that like to hang around. I often find them in my woods doing things. What a perfect place for him and the beard is magnificent.
Oh ... I love that pillow with the eyes!

He needs to be careful around that cushion with the eyes. It looks a bit untrustworthy.

The guardian of the cushions. But he's so cute!!

I don't particularly associate gnomes with Christmas. I think it's fine to have him out all year round.

He got a good and awful name. Infections will not come near to your house.

It would be sad to hide him away all year. He looks fearsome.

Such a fun little guy to have around year around! Hugs, RO

Gnomes must have a job - yes. Having him responsible for the cushion basket is good. I have an old garden gnome that needed some repair so I brought him in. Currently he is watching over the bulbs growing in the kitchen window!
