For this week's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of
DVArtist, Art, Food, Gardening blog . . .
Here's another quick direct-to-paper ink sketch,
supplemented with contrasting ink- and watercolour washes.
I decided to fill in the (inadvertently) leftover white space
with some lettering and coffee beans!
We've all been on those
awkward first coffee dates,
haven't we, LOL?
I hope it works out for them!

...February 9, 1966, my Sweetie and I had our first date, but no coffee for me.
You captured it the awkwardness so well. Love it.
You know I love watercolor art!
It brings some kind of movement to the piece that I don’t see in oil pieces.
XOXO
A super sketch, I reaĺy love it 🥰
They look like it's going better than the couple I saw a few weeks back who both sat down and didn't say a word to each other but played on their phones. Great sketch!
This is lovely my friend!
Honestly, I've never had a first date that was over coffee. Also, I've not had a first date since 1985. 🤣
I'm getting a 'this is not a good date' vibe. He looks a little tight lipped and she's sitting at the very edge of the table.
Cafe culture, we can learn from the French how to live well.
There is something pretty wonderful about conversation sitting across the table from a stranger or a friend and a good cup of coffee.
oh god.... i am so glad i am not in the dating game........
I wish I had your talent. I can't do visual art at all.
Nice drawing - I love having coffee....and a nice talk.
All the best

My Pressy arrived Today from you, Thank You Thank You Thank you once again! It is the updated version of the Identical Camera I've been using so I already know how to work it and won't even have to learn something new! Old Dog, New Tricks, tend to be hard for Yours Truly, so, Color me beyond Happy! Squeeee Happy! *LOL* And, as for Dating, I'm SO Thankful I'm not in the Dating Pool and haven't been for many Decades now, I doubt I would bother. I don't have the Time or Patience to Train another one... Winks... plus, I like Older Partners and at my Age, well, most of the Older Models are Dead now. *Bwahahaha*
I love me some artwork. Pen & Ink and watercolor works well. And, coffee??? Well, where would I be with out that? Sleeping, napping, sleeping, napping....
Thank you for dropping by my blog yesterday and leaving a comment.
I stop by here fairly regularly - yesterday was the first time I've left a comment. :-)
Hi Debra, That exposed brick wall texture is perfect--it looks exactly like those coffee houses and fir that matter so many pizza/Italian places.

@ Bohemian -- Thank YOU for taking it off my hands. I was about to take it for recycling at the Eco Station, so you came along in the nick of time! I hope the camera works well for you and takes many fab new photos for your blog.
I'm always so impressed by artists, who with just some strokes of the pen, or pencil, bring things alive. Well done.
@whkattk -- THAT'S the value of leaving comments alright! It enabled me to find your blog!
