For this week's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of
DVArtist, Art, Food, Gardening blog . . .
Another completed assignment from
the "Portraits in Coloured Pencils" class.
Mr Moustache was just chock-a-block full
of challenging things to do -- his head scarf turban,
wrinkles, a bushy moustache, and that turkey neck!
He turned out a lot better than I thought he
was going to at various points in the process.
My own turkey neck is starting to develop
now that I'm aging. So far, it's still just
little baby turkey wattles but they've been
getting more pronounced over the past year.
Is turkey neck something you deal with too?

...I'm known as, head and shoulders, no neck!
I am a big fan of your pencil crayon drawings, they are so well done. Gigi
I am not a fan of turkies, but a fun of your painting skills 🤩
A master portrait, Debra 👍🏼🏅
That is a superb portrait you have done
Wow Debra, he is amazing. You even got the wrinkles down perfectly, which isn't easy. Have a super weekend. hugs-Erika
I didn’t have hint of a turkey neck until this past year when my body started attacking itself. Turtle necks in Córdoba in spring and summer are out of the question. Ah well. Great portrait.
O my God dear Debra
This is masterpiece 😍
Incredible art. ,literally mind blowing because of breathtaking details you worked on my amazingly talented friend 🙏🥹🤗♥️🥰🥰🥰♥️😍😍
Hats off to your wonderful skills girl 🫂♥️
I feel so proud to know you 🥹🥰♥️
That is stunning. Well done!
Oh, brother, do I have turkey neck. 'Course, my mom did, and she seems to have gifted me with everything that plagues me these days.
You're an amazing artist.
Turkey neck? Check.
I like this one, love the turban!
Whoa Debs!
This is super cool. Love the details and the colors. Bet that turban was a CHORE!
XOXO
Outstanding, I prefer to ignore my turkey neck.
Turkey neck here too. I usually don’t care about it but occasionally someone makes it an issue. Then I care for a different reason!
I can see the love you put in this artwork! All the detail. As for turkey neck, that's why God sent us turtleneck sweaters.
This turned out so good! I've always wished I could draw this good, but I ended up with more talent working with my hands than art supplies. I can't wait to see what you do on your next one!
Wow! This is impressive, Debra.
Turkey neck? Yep!
Well, just take my breath away. This is magnificent. You captured such emotion in this face. The turban and the turkey neck both turned out fabulously. Uhhh yeah age does change the face and especially the neck. LOL I am so in awe of your talent. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a very nice weekend.
That came out great.
Your art lessons are sure paying dividends -- this is your best human drawing to date! Coloured pencils are definitely your medium. And yes, time marches on, usually across our faces!
You crack me up with the turkey neck. LOVE the art. Seriously. Seriously.
That is one very beautiful and very intricately detailed drawing Debs!
This is amazing..you should be proud!!
A lot of challenges in this one for sure!! Great job!!
I've had a turkey neck for a long time :)
Hello Debra, You are getting perfect at faces and textures--this current portrait looks like it belongs on the cover of National Geographic. I understand about the face-off challenge, but I was wondering if you are also using your artistic skills on more local materials.
For fun, I looked up Edmonton in internet images, and, in addition to many overviews of Edmonton, found lots of historical buildings and natural scenery, featuring plenty of character. Oddly, none of these thousands of photos show a single flake of snow. I figure that Edmonton must be in the tropical region of Canada that we hear so much about. No wonder you are such an expert on pineapples.

Wonderful x
Incredible drawing. And, yes, gobble gobble.
Like your portrait subject (amazing work), I too can grow facial hair to detract from my burgeoning wattle. Despite this, growing old is still the better alternative.
Your talent is amazing! No turkey neck yet. :)
Beautiful portrait.
Wow he’s amazing.
Turkey neck is the reason posh ladies walk around with their noses in the air.
Or so I’m told
SUPERB!!!

I used to be so scared of getting a turkey neck when I was a kid. Now that I'm at the age where it might happen, it's not something I worry about.
Another great drawing.
Wonderful portrait!!
Surely as we grow older we are concerned about the turkey's neck!!
This is a lovely piece of art, lots of character. I don't care about turkey neck, mine is coming along nicely, I think ageing can be beautiful, I like age spots on peoples hands for example! Betty
Great, wonderful work!!! Wow!
Yes, Ingo, since years, turkey.... meep! I should look for cream, maybe...
yes on the turkey neck. Your portrait is outstanding! I did two drawings with pencil this week, on my own, using old photos and it's a real lesson in seeing. Definitive lines, adding up to a whole

Well done portrait ~ Wow!

That's a good drawing. You've got the mustache just right. As for turkey neck, I try not to think of those things.
Have a lovely day.
so amazing. you have a great talent with portraits. ~*~
Wow!! You are a very talented artist!!!!
I have my body faults but turkey neck is not one of them.
Your drawings are always amazing, D, and this one is right up there!
As for the turkey neck, sigh, most of the time I don't care but sometimes I catch a glimpse in the mirror and roll my eyes. If it gets worse I might start wearing a cravat! Lol
Debra, this portrait is brilliant! You are so good and getting better all the time.
