Going Into Battle With Your Tattoos

Would I survive?

Are you kidding?

I have an Amazon's Battle Axe and

Mjolnir, Thor's Hammer!

And while my other tat may look

harmlessly decorative,

it is really the

deadly throwing chakram

of Xena, Warrior Princess!

(Yes, it is.)

FEAR ME!

Now, what about your tattoos,
if you have any?

How well-armed are you?

I have none; I don't like needles.

I never would have imagined that potential weapons were among the criteria for deciding upon tattoos. Ms. Fluke's statement seems more than a little whimsical, unless it was apropos of something. If she actually carried those weapons around with her, that might be different, although their weight might make it a little difficult to dodge bullets.
--Jim
p.s. For the record I strongly disapprove of guns and other weapons carried in public--it seems to me that more harm than good will always come of them! This of course does not include the thoughtful and decorative tattoos sported by Debra.

None, although I regularly fantasize about getting one... and what I’ve decided on WOULD protect me. It’s a tribal owl in flight. Is that YOURS in the last image? It’s beautiful!

I hate tattoos so I'd be counting just on my deadly charms.

i have a spider on my butt that would bite the crap out of someone. i have a scottish thistle on my foot that could sting. i have a warrior sword on my arm that can pierce. no little flowers or dolphins on this broad. btw...i am addicted to gentleman jack.

@ Moving With Mitchell -- Oh yes, that tat is mine. I got it in Maui about 3 years ago.

I would be in serious trouble. I don't have any but i did it would be a tiny dandelion clock fairy.

I have series of cherubs and devils battling across my back and on the sleeve of my left arm. I have grim reaper and a dragon also. But the only weapon is a life size dagger that would be deadly if I could just pull it off when needed!

Well, I'd be a goner. Not.one.tattoo, unless you count my colorful varicose veins. :)

I would so die - no tatts whatsoever.

Well, I'm not sure how mine will help me ...I have a ring of barbed wire around an ankle, a Yin-Yang symbol, and the Chinese characters for Compassion, Friendship, Peace and Truth.

No tats, I have enough problems with my insulin injections! I do have killer moles and skin tags that can be used as battle boulders, though.

No tattoos here though...

Have 3. Love them and proud of them and, yes, they help me survive:) Love, cat. PS: Thunderbutt has one as well … in his Rt ear:)

The permanency of a tattoo discourages me from getting one. I'm afraid I changed my mind. Also, I don't feel like sitting around in a chair while some stranger works on my. I put getting haircuts for that very reason. But if I did get a tattoo, it would probably be a comic strip or cartoon character, Snoopy, Bugs Bunny, Daisy Duck, something like that.

I always crudely joke about getting a tattoo that says, "slippery when wet" ...so maybe my enemies would fall and hurt their backs?

I'm ink free but I love yours and LOVE that they are ALL weapons!!! Maybe you'll get a fan one of these times???

Magical decorative bracelets, moon, raven, crystal ball, triple goddess symbol ... unless that raven is a vicious killer or the crystal ball can predict what I need to do to survive, I fear I'm a goner.

But if the crystal ball can tell me how to find you at the end of it all, maybe I'll just come hang with you and your weapons. lol

My first tattoo was when I was 15, long before girls were getting tats. My second was when I was in my 20s. No armor just flowers.

I would be defenseless. No tattoos.

Hi again, It's funny, but I came across this quote right after reading this post. It's kind of sappy, but might constitute a comment on excessively martial tattoos. Helen Gurley Brown said, "If generosity and compassion are figuratively tattooed right inside your heart, you can never go too far wrong."

No tattoos on me. To permanent. T-shirts are my thing. You can put one on to match your attitude for the day.

I have none. I fear hepatitis more than any other disease in this world.

I love your tattoos--they are perfectly witchy, full of strength and blooming with balance.

I think my tattoos and I would definitely have a chance, if we have to battle: there is a dragon curled around my hip, mushrooms sprouting out of my chest, flower and vines on my lower back, a winged child carrying the moon on my upper back, and Hot Stuff grinning on my shoulder. Yep, you'd probably have more than a chance... if we had to fight.

It seems to be the trend that women now get tattoos while men do not. There are some beautifully decorated women out there. Male tattoos seem to be all death and ugly.

No tattoos for me - I do wonder from time to time what they will look like when their recipients are very old and wrinkled.

Ur-spo said...

No tattoos alas I would not last a minute.

Tundra Bunny said...

As you well know, Debra, I am not without defensive/survival skills... plus I'm also a wolf whisperer and have a legion of jackrabbit guards at my command which negate any need for this goddess to get tattoos!

Forsythia said...

What Rosemary said. No tats for me.

Adam said...

I would have no weapons

I have no tattoo. No intention to have any. If I did, it would my son's name spelled in Hebrew. That's badass enough for any battle.

Sixpence Notthewiser said...

I would go with two bodyguards cause I’ve got two men tattooed on me!
Yay

XoXo

Tatless, here.

I'd be doomed, because I have no tattoos. I've always liked your Amazon's Battle Axe and Mjolnir, Thor's Hammer tattoo, Debra, but I don't think tattoos are in my future.

The Maui tattoo is gorgeous.

Yours is a thought-provoking question. If a random, small fish were to attack me, then my anemone could stun them, I think. The others would be of no help whatsoever.

I got a 8 ball tattoo in 1976 on my left boob..over the years it began to resemble more like a cue stick than a 8 ball..so I tried to have it covered up with a cowboy helmet..but it basically looks like a rock on my tit..so? a rock

No tattoos. I'd have to use my bat wing arms to hurt them.

No tattoos here. I shall have to rely on cunning and imagination!

I wouldn't stand a chance, being 'unarmed' as I am.

I have a phoenix rising... so I'd be flown right out of there.

No tats for me, but my son has enough for an army. I don't know how well-armed his army is, though.

Love,
Janie

Polly said...

Oh dear, I have a small lizard!

mshatch said...

I'm screwed.

I wonder if my bright red manicure would help in battle.

Rommy said...

I have a half back one of a luna moth and symbols of the elements. LOL, I'm not sure the luna moth would do much, but if I could use the elements like Aang or Kora then I'm in good shape. :D

That was fun to see yours. I am not armed but I do a bunion the size of a small island.

The Captain said...

I have the symbol of the Klingon Empire on my arm, I'd love a Mjolnir or a Valknut tat - maybe for my 50th.

Martha said...

I'd be a total goner! I'm not armed at all.

Never had this out-of-the-box thought about going into a battle with what ever my body tattoo has. It has a peacock feather and flute and both representing the a godly figure and his protection. But thank you Emily for showcasing a very contrasting perspective to the whole figurine in one’s body. Appreciate you also showing us that it does change from person to person.
