Happy earth day!
Yes!I was talking to someone about global warming. They told me all trash goes to the same place and recycling is a waste of time. I moved right away. I can't believe we still have to have this conversations!!!XOXO
Happy Earth Day. Let's all do something good for the Earth today. Which includes letting her alone and finding out what she needs rather than what we assume. Peace!
Ten thousand years ago the world human population is estimated to have been two million. In 1800 the world population reached one billion; 1927 two billion; 1960 three billion; 1974 four billion; 1987 five billion; 1999 Six billion; 2012 seven billion, today we are approaching eight billion........We are the pollution that is destroying the environment. Still, we should celebrate the earth while we still have some remaining natural ecosystems. the Ol'Buzzard
These are all good reminders of our planted and Earth day.
Some funny but ohh so true. Have a great day.
That Santa one is epic!
Happy Earth Day! It brings me to tears to think what we've done to our beautiful planet.
yo mama is just about ready to open up some serious whoopass on you disgusting "human beings"! CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL!
Excellent post! Happy Earth Day.
Happy Earth Day Debra!!!! I shall have a walk today at the lake. I came across my rock you sent and it reminded me of Earth Day actually...so thank you! I am thinking of adding it to a terrarium when I start it...thanks to Sixpense.Happy Earth Day 🦎🦗🦋☘🌸🏵🌳🌼🌾🌹🌏🌞
Out of 365 days there is only ONE Happy Earth Day!?!? How about 364 days of Happy Earth Day and only ONE day of ... let's see how we are doing!! Every day should be a day of trying to do our level best to make our Home the very best it can be! Humans have abused the planet for far too long ... a rapid speed up is needed to try and correct what we have gotten so wrong for far too long!Happy Thursday!!!
Hello Debra, Yes the Santa one is the best. I would try to think something hopeful for today, but to tell the truth, I don't think Malthus went far enough in his predictions.--Jim
Oh THAT mother! We should thank her every day (and apologize, too).
Trash everywhere is so disgusting.
We should all be doing our part. The racoon cracked me up!
Sixpence: Other than for metals and organics, your friend is not wrong: https://www.npr.org/2019/07/12/741283641/episode-926-so-should-we-recycle I continue to separate my waste streams but it is a stupid thing to do. The raccoon is right.
Yes, yes, yes. Sad, beautiful, inspiring and scary. You covered it all, Debra.Happy Earth Day.
it was 26 this morning. it's going to be 87 on wednesday. does anyone think something drastic might be going on?
The snowmen look like someone actually did that. Bravo if they did. Otherwise, nice editing job.
Our Mother Earth deserves so much better, I agree with what Marcia wrote. We need action, pronto! The raccoon is so funny. :)
Welcome our new raccoon Overlords... Happy Earth Day!
Celebrate Earth Day, EVERY DAY!!!!
Right on Debra, great post with some funnies. We all need to do our part.
When I was a child, in the 40's and 50's, my parents taught us to leave any outdoor space "cleaner than we found it". My two daughters were taught the very same thing. One of them does it, ones does not. I wish it were different.
Thanks, Debra, a very thoughtful post! I do like the Santa one especially, though I suspect those solar panels would end up in the hard rubbish pile, to go to landfill. There really are too many of us. 🙁
Why is it so hard to put the friggin' trash into the friggin' trash can? I don't get it.
We should take care of each other and which includes our mother.Coffee is on and stay safe
The racoon one made me laugh out loud. And the one dude's response to the BP Petroleum tweet was spot on!
I'm a little late, but I do appreciate the fun start to Friyay! Hugs, and more hugs, RO
Perhaps we could suggest that Sunday be renamed Earthday. People could go outside and do work that would make their god(s), goddess(es), or conscious happy!
I am one of those nutjobs who rummages through the rubbish to pull out plastic bottles, empty the water and put the bottles in recycling.
This post makes me terribly sad, because I thought we'd be doing much better by now. Sad, but not hopeless, rather more determined. Science deniers of any ilk are incomprehensible to me. Have a great weekend, Debra!
If only we had the same instincts as the other creatures of the Earth.Love,Janie
this is award wining post dear Debra !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i loved each from bottom of my heart ,i really am one of those fools who keeps trash in their pocket (fro is hand bag) until they find trash bin :)last one made me emotional ,all of them actually ,thank you and happy mother day :)
Darling Debra,Some thought provoking images and sentiments you present for us here.We thought that, perhaps, as the pandemic has given the world time to reflect and that Nature has been embraced by so many as a source of renewal and hope that there would be a new dawn post pandemic for the Earth. We cling to this thought....
Happy Earth Day, friend D ... I know, I'm late, but then again ... Earth Day is every day. Here is hoping, that you and your loved ones are still happy and healthy ... My family and I are so far. Sending love, cat.
The comment about the recycle stuff ending up in the land fills is unfortunately not far from truth. That happens too often and has been documented many times. We need to invest more in managing recycling.
Is it horrible that the jab a bp made me laugh like a crazy person? I hope not. Unless that puts me on the naughty list. If laughing at the nerve of bp puts me on the naughty list, then know that I laughed like a maniac. I could really use a few solar panels...
Earth Day is Every Day.
That bp one was on point!
Went for a walk up Arabia Mountain on my birthday with my husband and son.Son is all grown up now but can you believe my pride when he spotted some garbage on that gorgeous mountain and he went OUT of his way to pick it up and carry it down the mountain? That is one cool guy in my book! Always!
Great post Deb! Happy Earth Day! Big Hugs!
next time the gg's are here I'm taking them around the roads here in west and pick up trash.
