Bee Happy

Trigger warning
for people who
don't like bees!

Hey, look at this cool photo
of a bee fancier gnome
taken by e of plufrompdx
at a local hardware store!

I think his name should be
Honeycomb Gnome!

Another mystery solved!

I love the legal system!

I know what you mean, man.

They are so vital to us yet we treat them with contempt in so many ways.

I bees happy for you!

I love bees too!!!!! You need Honeycomb Gnome, sure to cause havoc in your gnome home. I wonder if the meme of the sawm of bees on the car is true? If it is that is amazing, but the cat purrring had me laughing out loud.

Special things for a special lady!💋

Bees are our friends! But not all stripey insects are bees. It pays to know which is which.

I love bees - I find they are gentle creatures and have no desire to sting me.

I grew up on a honeybee farm.

I love that gnome! Something is ringing bells in my head - more than normal that is, hang on. I'm reading the Library Book, primarily about the fire in Los Angeles central library. The author is talking to the man in charge - probably about 2018 - and he was considering a proposal to put beehives on the roof. Don't know if it was ever agreed.

I used to be so afraid of bees, despite being named after the patron saint of bees. Then I found out that they're all sisters, except for the drones, and that they all work together.
When I lived in West Edmonton, we had a beehive in our garage, in between the walls and I just left it alone. I came to love those bees, although it was sad to find their dead bodies in a straight line, heading back to the hive, worn out and no longer able to do their jobs.

Now I appreciate bees and have learned to love them. Wasps however, are another story:)

Although I have a general allergy to bees, and have been to the emergency room, I still love and appreciate them. However, that swarm on the car has triggered a panic attack.

@ Moving with Mitchell -- Sorry!

If a swarm of five bees followed my car I'd be freaked out because that's weird. In general, though, I'm fine with bees. I planted some flowers last summer to attract them but didn't see many visiting us.

Love,
Janie

I think about starting a bee colony every once in a while. There are several around here. But then I think I should finish my 683 unfinished projects first. Then I take a nap to relieve the stress of thinking.

I started following a beekeeper on Instagram. She goes around saving bee swarms (barehanded!) and getting them in new hives. She ends every post with 'and it was another great day of saving the bees.' Love her! (texasbeeworks.com)

Love the explanation of cat purring!

That queen bee really should have let the driver of that car know she was there.

Bees are vital to the survival of nearly everything. The bees go and we're not too far behind.

So Bees are ruled as fish? That is something new

Love bees. Without them we are doomed

Xavier wants to know who counted the bees. I’d like to know what happened to the bees and their queen at the end of the 2 days.

I love the Bee Gnome.

These are all great; you know I have a thing for Bees too. :)
I giggled at Who In THe Hell Counted All the Bees?

Avoid my ignorance please as during recent trip when I ask my eldest son whether "honey" is waste of bees or what ?
He replied with an ironical smile that no it is their food which we humen steal . That's make me sad when I open fridge and inevitably I look at bottle of honey got by workman while trimming our Neem tree

That Honeycomb Gnome is AWESOME. I love gnomes so much. Sad thing though I have to keep them in the gated courtyard. I had a really nice set of Zombie Gnomes that my husband got me for Yule 2 years ago and I put them in the front yard garden. They were stolen the next evening. I was so mad and heartbroken about it. David said that he wanted to get the police to go look for them but I laughed and said, "Attention all officers! Be on the lookout for four Zombie Gnomes. Approach with caution as they are cute but hungry." Yeah, there's that. Girl, I love bees! I think they are so cute.

Boud: and not all bees are stripey insects! This is a carpenter bee foraging on Mountain Laurel https://flic.kr/p/e3JwNY

Native Bees are important pollinators as well!

I love the Bee artwork. You are always receiving great gifts from your blogging buddies!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ LL Cool Joe -- Yes, they humble me with their thoughtfulness and generosity!

Mr. Shife said...

I wish more states would be proactive like California and protect the bees. I didn't realize how important they were until I spent summer helping my buddy on his farm and we had to put the bees out so they help pollinate all of the crops. I only got stung once. I was pretty lucky. Enjoy your bounty.

I love bees. I find their regurgitation delicious.

I love bees! So helpful and so cute! I have been stung a few times but I forgive them!

My friend keeps bees. She was born to it, but she didn't know how. So she went and started keeping two beehives. They are so interesting and yes they do make honey. That one time she got stung by one little bee and almost died. I don't know the whole history, but it was one bee too much. Anyway, i was concerned and worried. So when i saw my friend, i asked her about those bees.
We talked about the bees. Because she is interested in bees and wants to keep going, she has bought herself a special extra impermeable beesuit to protect herself from random bees
tings. This is all a joke and offered to Hestia.

Richard said...

Dear baili. Please also avoid my ignorance. I was thinking about the insects. But thank you.

All very cool stuff plus bee swag. I think that's the first time I ever read the words, bee swag. Omg. I love it.

The bee gnome is awesome. I'm going to do a Google search for it. My friend at Shellbrook with a large honey farm will love it. Try Hannigan Honey!
The swarm on the car is quite possible. Estimating swarm numbers is not a hard trick for experienced bee keepers.

I love this post on bee. We hardly have any here and when I see on in my garden I actually get excited. Have a lovely day.

When I was in Michigan my brother gave me a small pot of honey from his backyard bees! Awesome !

Of course they are fish! Sometimes, when you are faced with a bunch of money-grabbing honkies in business suits, intent on destroying the world, you have to get creative. So the law can be useful.
