Want a Halloween Nosh?

How about a nice cup
of tea or coffee
and some cookies?

Help yourself to the
cheese 'n fruit board as well.

It's "Sanderson Sisters Approved!"

Perhaps a wee slice of delicious cake?

Or maybe pie is more to your taste?

In any event,
here's lookin' at you, kid!

I love the winking eyes, as black as night.

I love the cake with the candy corn in the middle. It seems like a lot to make. I'd never be able to!
The two-tier haunted house cake is intriguing. The open gate looks real!

Wow! Scary how creative some folks can be! The two skull/rainbow cakes remind me of my first tattoo....happy face with crossbones! Just because you're diabolical doesn't mean you can't be friendly and inclusive!! ☠🙂

These are wonderful! I am amazed at people's creativity when it comes to baking. I've never seen the eye tarts - very clever. And, the goth on the outside and happy/gay on the inside is fun.
Cheers~!

That skull cake is unbelievable!

There's a few of these cakes which I would love to try. Halloween is originally at least partially about harvest and food stocks. I blogged tonight about food, by the way, and will do it again soon.

I take the cookies. Nothing on cookies can scare me away. Except coconut.

looks like the deserts are the treat this year. Don't need any candy with that nice spread.

Those pies looked amazing. So much wonderful stuff. I need to get back to the kitchen. I enjoy making things and seems like a good time to do it.

The chocolate cake with eyes finally got to me.

These are all amazing, thank you. I've sent a couple to a friend whose young son always has a halloween themed birthday party.

Actually, that image (7th picture down) describes me quite well. At least at times.

Halloween themed china is on my bucket list! The problem with the desserts is they are just too gorgeous to eat.

Hello Debra, These are all great. I looked up that Not Quite Nigella blog--lots of good ideas there. I wish I had known some of these ideas when I was still baking!

Oh no! I do not like the eye tarts! And I'm trying to work out how they made the black cake with the orange, yelow and white middle.

Tundra Bunny said...

@ Liz Hinds: it's not hard to make, just finicky. A conical mold is used to cut out the black (chocolate), yellow, orange and white layers from sheet cakes. Then these layers are assembled with black icing round each layer plus yellow and orange icing between those coloured cake layers. When the cake is sliced into, you then have the candy corn effect.

I am feeling very cranky and irritable. I am not happy that we have to spend another winter doing the same old thing again.
