"One Day Late" Sunday Seven

CONSUMED: a tasty lunch of upscale burgers and onion rings with friends at Woodshed Burgers.

ATTENDED: then we went to a book launch event for Into The Midnight Garden, a collection of magical watercolour images and lyrical responses showcasing the work of Barbara Hartmann, illustrator, and Jessica Heine, singer/songwriter. The original framed watercolours were on display and available for purchase, as was the book.

SCRAPED: the passenger side rear fender of my car during the first wet snowfall of the season, when my poor little Yaris slipped and grazed a yellow utility protection pole in my back alley. D'oh! Oh well, now it just matches the other side, LOL.

BOUGHT: a new humidifier for my bedroom. The old one stopped working due entirely to my own negligence in not descaling its heating element in a timely fashion. Lesson learned.

VOTED: in a pumpkin decorating contest held by the property managers in my building. I didn't decorate and enter a pumpkin myself because I was too busy. But these three excellent pumpkins were done by kids in the building. I'm sure they will all win prizes!

ANNOYED BY: Blogger software which has changed how images are uploaded to posts -- but it doesn't work! I sure hope this pain in the butt gets resolved soon.

BAKED: a batch of yummy Pumpkin Hermit Cookies with raisins and pepitas (pumpkin seeds). It's my Halloween treat to myself!

Never let the car be so precious that you are afraid to drive it,like us cars pick up a few scars along the way.

I'm sorry about your car slipping, but luckily not badly.
The Halloween art is wonderful, and the cookies look delicious.
Happy Halloween xx

I love the cat pumpkins, especially the one that was painted black.

I haven't noticed a change in the way pictures are uploaded ... maybe I'm further down the list of bloggers getting the change??

Sorry about your sweet car---but happy it wasn't worse. First snowfall? Sorry about that too!!
The cookies look so good and that combo is right up my cookie alley.
Love the creative pumpkins.

it seems that everyone celebrated halloween on the weekend before the actual day. god forbid you tried to do that here. people are very strict about celebrating it on the 31st! i have 180 treat bags ready!

Oh no!
Your poor car! I did something like that to mine with the garage door. Don't ask. LOL

And those pumpkins are super cute!

XOXO

I always knew lesbians were tough, but driving a Yaris in Alberta? Oy.

You seem pretty social to be eating hermit cookies.

oops, I've got some of those matching scrapes on Mini.
Sounds like a good week on the whole though.

Blogger hasn't changed for me, more than the usual hesitation about whether it feels like uploading pictures today.

Next year, I hope you decorate a pumpkin. I really like the black cat there.

Big sympathy for the car but as my Dad always said "its just a piece of metal. Expensive metal but just metal" At least you were not hurt!
Great pumpkins.
Blogger software - totally agree with you. Very annoying!,

Sorry to hear about your car.. love the positive attitude though.
The pumpkin cookies look good minus the raisins.
We had burgers last night as well but we had them delivered and unfortunately they weren't as hot as well would have liked.

And upscale burger (and upscale onion rings) sound so good. Our car is balanced, too. We've thought of getting it a facelift but it will only happen again. Those pumpkins are winners as are those cookies.

Annoyed to the max!

"Lesson learned." If you're like me, probably not.

With the car, at least you didn't scrape against someone else. A utility protection pole... no harm, no foul.

Raisins and pepitas - what a tasty combo! And very seasonal.
Cheers!

Some very clever and talented pumpkin decorators
I had trouble with blogger a few weeks back. It didn’t let me post at all.
Thankfully it sorted itself out after 24 hours

I'm ok with the new way of loading images. Sorry about your car, I did laugh when you said it matched the other side though!

Once I scraped the side of my (rental) van pulling in to load out a show. Knowing I would be trading it in the following week, I nonchalantly said, Time to buy a new one! Forever after, my exhibitor neighbor remembered me as the lady who scratched her van and got a new one.

Burgers sound good. Too bad about the car. Sigh.

That black cat pumpkin certainly stands out. I wonder just how it got that way. Paint? Food coloring? Shoe polish?

@ Kirk -- My money's on paint. Spray paint, to be exact.

@ This N That -- Oh, oh, I need to clarify that this is, in fact, a week's summary, not just a Sunday's!

Those gut-bomb cookie balls look delicious. I could go all day on a couple of them. They look tasty. You could try them with other dried fruits. The possibilities are endless. I am allergic to oats, of all things, so I won't be buying the oat-balls, but those cookies look pretty good.
