Today is the Spring Equinox
in the Northern Hemisphere,
when Day and Night are equal.
We call it "the first day of Spring."
In pagan tradition, Spring is brought by
the Goddess named Ostara or Eostre,
accompanied by her sacred rabbits,
flowers, pussy willows, and
coloured eggs -- all symbolizing
the fertility and new beginnings
of a reawakened Earth.
Other myths of Springtime celebrate the Goddesses
Demeter and Persephone -- the return of the Daughter
from the Underworld to awaken joy and renew life
in the heart of her grieving Earth Mother.
Whichever mythology is referenced,
it is clear that the Spring Equinox
is a time of new hope, new life,
new beginnings!
*** Blessed Be ***
to all who celebrate!

..yes, plant your dreams.
I hope you enjoy renewed sunshine.
May we all have a reason for renewed hope.
Love those eggs! Such intricate patterns!
Happy equinox! Spring here in the Northern hemisphere, and it's always hard to realize it's fall in the Southern hemisphere.
Why I enjoy all seasons, and I love the hotness of Summer and the beach, I do believe spring might be my favorite season. Nothing like everything getting Reborn and blooming to full Glory. I suspect in about another three to four weeks it's going to be really pretty. Happy spring to everybody!
We call it same way but in Finnish, but it was here yesterday 🌞
Thank you for sharing the lovely springish photos 💐
Merry Equinox!!!

Although spring arrived here with a cold front and a couple of snowflakes I know things will be looking up from here.
And here we are with the spring Equinox snowstorm leftovers! But we are celebrating as it adds moisture to our thirsty forests!
Happy Spring. I'm planting my dream, but not sure it'll grow - not until a certain orange nut is gone, anyway.
Happy Equinox my friend. I do hope you have sunshine. Here we have rain. The days of sunshine are coming soon, I hope.
Happy Spring!
Happy Spring - looking forward to the peace and tranquility of the garden.
My wife and I celebrate the seasons, not holidays.
Thanks for the post. We are of a kind.

Yay!
As you know, I'm a Spring kid so I love the equinox. I'm also partial to the Persephone myth. Love that for her.
XOXO
No matter what deity is responsable, I'm just glad it's here.
🪻Thank you for bringing the Eqinox to life for me. And that last statement, especially, because ""I Think It Pisses God[dess] Off If You Walk By The Color Purple In A Field And Don't Notice It."--Shug Avery, The Color Purple 😍
A heartfelt welcome to Ostara and the warmer, longer days she brings! I saw a cottontail in a neighbor's yard this week. Happy Spring!
