Summer Solstice

Today is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. We celebrate the longest day of the year and the shortest night. I hope everyone is outside today doing something fun in glorious sunshine! Solstice blessings to you!

lekvar...that is what the prune filing is called here. i have tried them. lekvar is not my favorite though. when i was in czech republic they made a version of the fruit filled perogis. they are called knedliky. OMG are they good. they wrap a whole plum or strawberry in the dough and then boil them and serve them in a bowl covered with melted butter and powdered sugar. mmmmmmmm....nom nom nom

Always a sad day for me, as the days start to get shorter now. But this is a time of power -- blessings!
