You know, I wasn't even going
to bother decorating for
the holidays this year.
But getting out my Sankta Lucia statue
to photograph her for this earlier post
inspired me to dig through a few
drawers and cupboards and
LO AND BEHOLD
all of a sudden I had put together
a nice little Winter Solstice
altar arrangement on my sideboard.
So now on this, the shortest day
following the longest night,
I WISH YOU ALL --

A Blessed Solstice to you!
Love it!
I think this is super cool. I'd never heard of it but google tells me it's awesome. Love the idea of the candles and the blue.
XOXO
Added a little extra light into everyday going forward,
Hello Debra, No wonder Sankta Lucia is so pale, with her holiday coming so close to the winter solstice and lack of sunshine.

blessed solstice! not my favorite day because the light starts to return. i hate the light. i am very nocturnal.
Happy Solstice to you too, Debra
Well done on putting together an impromptu solstice altar. I love her!
Beautiful - A blessed Winter Solstice to you!
be the light! longer days are on the horizon!
Perhaps this extra light could be a sign that we are coming out of a dark 2020 into a much brighter 2021? My fingers are crossed.
Winter solstice. It just sounds so nice. I feel like we should be doing something Medieval, maybe I'll cook up a big pot of stew, or we'll light some candles. I like your display, too. -Jenn
Very nice decorations!
I am glad that the days are now getting longer.
Happy Winter Solace.
If girls in Sweden want to wear candles on their heads, who am I to say them nay?
Remembering my Solstice Sister "Dee" on what would have been her 81st birthday.
Happy Holidays.
simple yet nice :)
Your altar is perfect! Merry Solstice, Deb!!
Wishing you a Happy Winter Soltice too - it is such a lovely thought to think that now the days will slowly get longer and brighter.
If ever a time to decorate, it's now during this of pandemic and isolation, to lift the spirits. I love all your items, and I adore bottle brush trees.
Don't forget the Saturn Jupiter match up tonight. Can you see it from underneath?
"Solstice", huh? I bet Baby Jesus is REAL HAPPY that you have appropriated His BIRTHDAY for your pagan rituals.
A very bright and blessed Solstice to you, dear Debra! I love your impromptu altar!
Happy Solstice..I wasn't going to decorate either..I will probably get rid of a lot of stuff when I go to put it away..Pretty sideboard !!
Winter Solstice is extra special in Canada this year due to the convergence of Jupiter and Saturn. Dubbed the "Christmas Star" it will be visible to all (no telescopes required) and brighter than it has been in 800 years!
May everyone have a magical Winter Solstice!
I like your style, seasonal decorations that fit in a small space and can be stored in a shoebox. We never go full Griswold for our holiday decorating, but still I'm hoping to talk the family into downsizing into something a bit more minimalist for next year.
Thank you for the wishes of magic. We need it, short as it may be.
Had coconut shrimp for yule dinner. My the new light (Sun) bring happiness and peace to you and those.
Coffee is on and stay safe
Wishing you the same.
Happy Solstice and a late GLAD LUCIA to all. Follow the light.
Happy Solstice! I love your altar.
Love,
Janie

Beautiful and festive; I love it!!
And to you, Debra, in the hope that as summer draws closer the world will be a better place. (Well, a girl has to dream!)
Happy Winter Solstice to you, too. Let there be light!
This is a wonderful present from the great space.
Merry Christmas to you.
My little statue was delivered yesterday and she sits on our dinner table next to the living room windows where we are eating each evening with candlelight - she is lovely.
We saw the young girls singing to the elderly people on St Lucia Day...saw it on the Rick Steves travel show from Europe. It was so beautiful. What country was it? The girls were all blonde...dang, can't remember much these days. Love your table, the blue is very peaceful.
Truly magical i adore the colours too.
Thanks for being so good to comment on my blog. Yes it is good to be back. Love and Happy Holidays my friend :)
Lovely - I always put a few things on my alter for Yule also.

may you and your partner celebrate it with gratefulness ,joy and peace together !amen
Happy Solstice, Debra!
Thank you. I can use all the magic I can get. Happy Solstice!
I was working the solstice so was unable to celebrate in my usual way, I would normally light a fire outside but the rain was torrential. I decided to have a quiet moment by my altar in my workshop instead. Happy Yule.
Beautiful Deb! Happy Solstice! Big Hugs!
