Winter Solstice Blessings

You know, I wasn't even going
to bother decorating for
the holidays this year.

But getting out my Sankta Lucia statue
to photograph her for this earlier post
inspired me to dig through a few
drawers and cupboards and

LO AND BEHOLD

all of a sudden I had put together
a nice little Winter Solstice
altar arrangement on my sideboard.

So now on this, the shortest day
following the longest night,

I WISH YOU ALL --

Love it!
I think this is super cool. I'd never heard of it but google tells me it's awesome. Love the idea of the candles and the blue.

XOXO

Hello Debra, No wonder Sankta Lucia is so pale, with her holiday coming so close to the winter solstice and lack of sunshine.

Perhaps this extra light could be a sign that we are coming out of a dark 2020 into a much brighter 2021? My fingers are crossed.

Winter solstice. It just sounds so nice. I feel like we should be doing something Medieval, maybe I'll cook up a big pot of stew, or we'll light some candles. I like your display, too. -Jenn

If girls in Sweden want to wear candles on their heads, who am I to say them nay?

If ever a time to decorate, it's now during this of pandemic and isolation, to lift the spirits. I love all your items, and I adore bottle brush trees.

Don't forget the Saturn Jupiter match up tonight. Can you see it from underneath?

"Solstice", huh? I bet Baby Jesus is REAL HAPPY that you have appropriated His BIRTHDAY for your pagan rituals.

Winter Solstice is extra special in Canada this year due to the convergence of Jupiter and Saturn. Dubbed the "Christmas Star" it will be visible to all (no telescopes required) and brighter than it has been in 800 years!

May everyone have a magical Winter Solstice!

I like your style, seasonal decorations that fit in a small space and can be stored in a shoebox. We never go full Griswold for our holiday decorating, but still I'm hoping to talk the family into downsizing into something a bit more minimalist for next year.

Thank you for the wishes of magic. We need it, short as it may be.

My little statue was delivered yesterday and she sits on our dinner table next to the living room windows where we are eating each evening with candlelight - she is lovely.

We saw the young girls singing to the elderly people on St Lucia Day...saw it on the Rick Steves travel show from Europe. It was so beautiful. What country was it? The girls were all blonde...dang, can't remember much these days. Love your table, the blue is very peaceful.

Thank you. I can use all the magic I can get. Happy Solstice!

I was working the solstice so was unable to celebrate in my usual way, I would normally light a fire outside but the rain was torrential. I decided to have a quiet moment by my altar in my workshop instead. Happy Yule.
